The Call of Cthulu

I won't lie my first thought while making this was to create something that would horrify H.P. Lovecraft, and I think I succeeded.

This is actually part of a larger series that I'm working on of making monster romance book covers. Why monster romance as a subject? Well romance is one of the most popular fiction genres, and the art styles that have dawned their covers I think says a lot about how we view sex/sexuality and romance in society. More importantly how people react to them. Judging a book by its cover.

Brining Home the Sunshine

This is an acrylic on canvas I painted for my mom for Christmas. I shared it on my instagram, and thought I might as well post it here as well. Considering I haven't painted in over two years, I think it turned out pretty good. What do ya'll think?

I'm Back!

Hello!

I'm back, I know it's been a while.

If you follow me, hi, wow. I can't believe you are still here. Thank you. If you don't my name is Katie but you can call me Mac. I've been sort of on a hiatus for a little (several years) while.

There are a few reasons for that, depression and lack of belief in my art and it's value being the main factors. Also working on boats made focusing on art hard. But with a little therapy, and taking time off to focus on art as a career has helped a lot.

I've already been posting to instagram but I thought I should start posting here as well.

While I am focusing on nature drawings, I'm also going to try taking commisioned work for dnd characters, fandom oc's and maybe even some book cover illustrations.

I'm really happy to be back, stay tuned for more art, and if you want you can follow me on instagram as well.
