For the book asks: epilogue and literature!
Epilogue: What is a book that made you cry? Confession: there is only one (1) trope that reliably makes me cry and I can’t say what it is because it’s inherently a major spoiler for a work, but let’s just say it’s the reason I was ugly-crying so hard when Rogue One ended I couldn’t stand up. But Children of Time by Adrian Tschaikovsky made me cry with a TOTALLY DIFFERENT TROPE, so by default it is the most impressive book to ever make me cry. It had to WORK for that sobbing.
Literature: Top 3 books you want to read this year. Counting books that haven’t been released where I am: Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott (Genderbent Alexander the Great IN SPACE, I am DOWN), Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse (not sure but I loved her first two so I’m in? I think it’s epic Indigenous fantasy?) and The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk because, again, I really enjoyed her other two books and this one is (checks notes) REGENCY FANTASY, score.
