BNHA AU:
My brain has decided to do this because my brain has been nice as I’ve been accepting myself and has catapulted me through fandoms i have been in the past.
And then it presented itself, my idea.
Izuku Midoryia
What the doc failed to mention all those years ago (mainly because fear and how low the chance was) was that there was a quirk that would still have that old feet look to them…an old quirk, ancient, eldritch, late blooming quirk that changes the look of the owner, usually triggered by a strong emotional response to finally show itself, causing said visual transformation
The quirk of the absolute.
(Or to put it simply, when kacchan/bakugo gets captured by the slime creature, and izuku/deku thrusts himself to save him, causing him to gain the powers of the absolute solver, oil drinking needs and overheating issues, and needing mass/matter like momo included)
Fun Note: my brain has been replaying just a scene of him dusting off the history books of quirks and it takes a while to get to the page of his quirk despite being in the “A” section, and its retelling previous users
Tesscynthia “The Sin” Elliott. The first user
Pupptina “The Vengance” Matryoshkamaki. The second user
Suzi “The Salvation” Doorman. The third user.
Quite a bit built up around this one, hope to see someone take it.
Series: Boku no Hero Academia/Murder Drones AU Criteria: In the world of quirks, there are many intricacies when working with a developing young child's life… Sometimes they miss things. AU title (optional): The Absolution
Izuku Midoriya was four years old when he was diagnosed as Quirkless by the (quack) Doctor. However, he failed to realize something dark lurked within the child he was condemning.
Several years later, it activates when the host is in danger. the near death experience of the slime villain triggering The Absolution to awaken.
Cue the encounter with All Might, and then round two… and instead of charging in, his hand swirls around as a symbol spins into place over the tips of his fingers while a matching one appears in his right eye and another around Bakugou and ripping him out of the slime villain. A shift of his hand, and a different sigil appears, and begins compressing the villain in place.
After getting away scot-free, Izuku runs off to tell his mom and… begins researching his new quirk. While He finds out that he craves oils (olive is his favorite), and he is sensitive to heat, he also needs to eat more and more. But it seems that the quirk does not only do things like manipulate matter, but warps points in reality itself. There is a draw to use one that he fears… a force he thinks of all Null for some reason.
During the year before UA, he studies and trains, knowing he would need more than just the quirk. What he finds is that the quirk is similar to something that others have had in the past. Tesscynthia "The Sin" Elliot, was first, seemingly possessed by the quirk for a time. Puppetina "The Vengeance" Matryoshkamaki, was second consumed by her desire to destroy the villains that had killed her family. Finally, Suzi "The Salvation" Doorman had led the way to saving her village, turning the destructive nature into something helpful.
Finding the ultra-rare footage was hard, but he begins learning to do more and more with the quirk, but not giving into temptation to destroy. He was going to make a new legacy, he was going to be The Pillar of society, the Symbol of New Hope… The Absolution will unite heroes into a new age.
The Absolution
Tarpan, The Absolution (1994)
It basically falls somewhere between Big O, the Iron Giant, and Johnny Sokko’s robot. Maybe a touch of Ultraman.
The analog wars / the absolution.
The analog wars were a series of wars between the superpowers of the pre-war world. It quickly grew as warring countries called upon allied forces and most of the world nations were involved when the war was in full swing.
Each side ramped up firepower, heavily bombing mostly civilian populations. A new type of bomb was created, unlike anything that came before it - known as a pig bomb, that held almost mythological power. It had the capability to cause another mass extinction event, so it remained unused. The blasts triggered what BLI archeologists call, the absolution.
Cosmic entities that had lay dormant, nestled in the earths core became filled with white hot hatred from being prematurely woken and emerged from beneath the mantle.
These beings were later called walkers as they look vaguely humanoid, they would “scream” (emit frequencies that shattered cities and cause tech to malfunction) and ooze a thick, highly radioactive viscous substance that would make any near it fatally sick.
Fearing the walkers were some kind of new weapon the opposition had created, the pig bomb was approved for use.
The team who had been hired to create it knew it was enough to end humanity (if the walkers would leave any alive anyway) and attempted to destroy their creation but were discovered and executed. It was used anyway, but foreign agents had relayed the information. The opposing side unleashed their pig bomb copy cat, not as powerful but not far off at all.
The result was the extinction of all life.
(Well, on the surface or about 20km into the crust.)
The walkers, still infuriated but without anything to inflict their fury upon, began to overheat and incinerated themselves into gritty ash that now makes up the desert “sand”.
No one can currently remember why they broke out but BLI archaeologists theorise it stemmed from competition for resources. Both BLI company values and killjoy culture, these wars are considered humanity’s most shameful mistake and BLI is determined to never let it happen ever again.
