Time means nothing in this place, and yet it's still possible for her to be exhausted. She cannot go on like this forever—but maybe she already has. Maybe she's been trapped here while an eternity passed on the outside. It's impossible to tell.

The time in between stretches into nothing. It could be minutes or hours that she remains alone in the void, waiting for it all to start again. In those times, her body aches and her eyes burn and she wishes for an end she knows will never come.

She'd trusted the wrong person and it cost her the only solace she'd ever really had.

It is what must be.

And maybe he was right. It'd been foolish, childish hope to think she'd escape unscathed. Cyri knew that—some part of her at least. The part of her that once insisted that all stories ended in tragedy, the one that knew better than to get too close.

                the loud screech from the meka, the way it was jumping at her as though trying to get something within, like it had found a source of power that could overcome even the energy they were consuming and running on. self-defense was all it was ! however, fontaine system certainly did not view it as such, did it ?
