A Visit Home

Orin was able to take a portal home, Shalra and Joe had really been a big help. He loved them both so much, happy that the two had each other. Unaware of the misfortunes that had befallen them both and he walked out into the quiet of the property. The stone home out before him, he was in his armor and minus an arm. He saw the wolves running towards him, yet his pack kept their distance as they sensed something was different about their Alpha's mate. Orin made his way up to the door, plate clanking as he walked. He got to the door, hearing River speaking to some one. Then a higher pitch, small voice and his heart fluttered with excitement.

He finally brought his hand to the door, he was excited and nervous as well. He knocked, it was a bit louder than intended but the small voice called out.

"I'LL GET IT MA!"

As the door flew open, a young girl squealed in excitement. It was his daughter, little Ayah Crowley...She rushed his legs, big blue-green eyes like River's and his chocolate colored hair on her head. He stood there eyeing her, yelled out.

"I KNEW PAPA WAS COMING HOME MA!"

Orin began to feel tears well up in his eyes as he scooped her up. Kissing Ayah's cheek, she giggled at his beard tickling her. The man felt so whole in this moment, he wished he could be done with it all. He winked at River, River looked shocked and so happy all at once. "Papa...Are ya' going to stay?" At that his heart sank and he shook his head. " afraid not little one..." Orin said with a bit of a somber look, then he put her down. Ayah rushed off with a giggle. "I wish you could stay...Papa..."

The Crowleys Keep Things Pastel on Colours Change Their Tone EP

Psych rock is a fun genre, and The Crowleys know how to make it all their own. Lead singer Cohen Wylie uses his wavering vocals to lead us through kaleidoscopic guitar melodies, starting with the aptly pastel “Pink Rainbows”; layers of noise eventually snap into clarity with a Blur-like Britpop ditty at the very end. Processed vocals pick up where that leaves off for the surfy and addictive “Midnight Blue.” Even simple bridges or instrumental sequences boast huge personalities, seen best in the record closer “Pansy Party Extravaganza.” ‘Pansy’ must have a different connotation in Canada, because this song is confident to the point of bragging; The Crowleys have honed their sound magnificently and any bullies that want to mock them with flowery names will have to confront me first.

Their brand new release 'Seasons' just came on my radar, and if you're into smooth, dynamic and laid-back indie rock, I highly recommend checking it out. I think I've fallen in love with their beautiful vocals, while the electric piano riffs add some pretty cool psychedelic textures to the music. The track also features a groovy rhythm and some amazing guitar work in the second part. 'Seasons' is very easy to listen to and probably perfect for a relaxing Saturday afternoon like this.
