Honestly, what really pisses me off about The Devil Complex (aside from the racism and the misogyny of the writers' room) is that it COULD have been the beginning of SUCH an interesting arc for Fitz, because he could have been paralleled with Ward. The Devil Complex could have been Fitz's version of Ward's well story, except Fitz could have made amends and accepted responsibility where Ward continued to be selfish and to shift the blame. It would have been SUCH an interesting character arc to explore (and it would have been a great mirror to Ward in season one, too, especially as it would have taken place in a season that the writers thought would be the last). I genuinely think Fitz would have emerged as a stronger character for it and it makes me mad that he was never given a shot at redemption in the following seasons.
