ok, originally the plan was to make a character analysis of magdalene o'moriah, but i gotta visit my nonna tomorrow and i don't wanna stay up all night and fuck up my sleep, so here's:
RANDOM MEWGENICS CHARACTER PAIRINGS AND WHY I LIKE THEM
(note: i pulled most of these out of my ass! char/char is a ship, while char + char is friendship)
Radical Rat + Dack: They give me this mordecai and rigby vibe to the function that no other fictional pair aside from mordecai and rigby themselves could ever have
Gein + Guillotina: i mean, they could be friends, they're both cannibals
Alice/Lucy: Magical Catgirl Yuri. (bonus if you throw Marshmallow in there)
Gambit/Dack: The host of the casino and his favorite gambling addict /j /silly
Trampy + Franklin: Franklin would definetly bribe Trampy into being in an experiment with the promise of booze and maybe a playcat magazine if he behaves well
Zaratana/Queen Hippo: I have a feeling they'd start off as sparring buddies, but soon grow VERY fond of one another
Dybbuk + Guillotina: Undead buddies!
Chang Hung/Zodiac: Opposites attract, also, i dunno why, this idea sorta stuck out to me
The Psychology of Magdalene O'Moriah, AKA Isaac's Mother: A Somewhat Shitty Character Analysis
WARNING! THIS CHARACTER ANALYSIS CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: abuse of various kinds, pills, alcohol, mentions of religion, mentions of psychosis, and general spoilers for both The Binding Of Isaac and Mewgenics. Reader discretion is advised!
(also hey guys, this is my first character analysis, i hope you like it)
From what we see about Magdalene, she isn't the most optimal mother figure. If anything, she is far from it: she constantly harms Isaac in one way or another, from pushing him away whenever he attempts to hug her, destroying his toys, to even attempting to sacrifice him to God. But what else could be said about Magdalene? Could she be suffering from a religious psychosis of sorts? Did she feel guilty after her actions in The Binding of Isaac within the game Mewgenics? Before we get into her present, let's take a look at her past.
The backstory of Magdalene is fairly simple. We see throughout The Binding of Isaac that Magdalene was far more kind, taking care of Isaac with his father at the start. However, throughout tidbits within endings, voice clips, and even small items in the game itself, we see that things had went downhill rather quickly. From what we hear in a dialogue between Isaac's father and Magdalene (11 sec to 33 sec), we could tell that the father was slipping into alcoholism. Speaking of voicelines, we can also hear that he had spent most of the savings that him and Magdalene worked to get (presumably on alcohol) in the prior voiceline to that one.
This isn't uncommon for the pair. As we see in ending 20, or the Delirium ending, Isaac can overhear his parents fighting in one of the memories that flashes before him right before he dies. Another ending that includes this is ending 21, or the Final ending within the Repentance DLC, where the narration of Isaac presumably going to heaven, includes another mention of his parents fighting. This wasn't just occasionally bickering, from how often we see and hear it happen, we can deduct that this was an almost daily routine for Isaac to be a witness to.
Another thing we see is pills. Isaac's father wasn't the only one with a substance issue, as we see many pills, preumably bought by Magdalene, to help her cope with many different things. We know this because of the items in the game. For instance, 'Mom's Bottle of Pills', an item that gives you a random pill, is recognized as an item owned by Magdalene. Same thing goes for 'Mom's Coin Purse', which is a passive item that gives Isaac four random pills at once, rather than being a chargable item like the pill bottle. Deducting from what we know now, we can assume that Magdalene's pill problem had only grew worse after Isaac's father had left.
This is actually a symptom of religious psychosis, disorganized behavior and speech. Magdalene isn't thinking correctly, and is most likely afraid of her husband going to hell if he doesn't change his ways or pray for forgiveness. Another sign that Magdalene was in a psychotic episode appears in the introduction when you open up the game, with this one being the most blatant sign of religious psychosis we see Magdalene.
But why in the world would a woman need an incredulous amount of pills to cope with her husband leaving her? Or rather, why did he leave in the first place? Religious psychosis is a form of psychosis that takes in the form of fixed and intense beliefs, often with delusions, hallucinations, and can disrupt daily life, and affect relationships with others. But how does this entail with Isaac's father leaving, you may ask? Or even with Isaac?
Let's look back at the mother and father dialogue. There's a tidbit here that show's a glimpse into what seems like a conversation betwixt Magdalene and Isaac's dad, where Magdalene urges him to 'repent', her tone growing rather frantic, almost panicked, as Isaac's father calls her insane, and even asks if she can hear how she sounds. But, let's take a look into how she speaks. Notice how she says that Isaac's father should 'let his light guide him' and urges him to pray with her and Isaac, almost in tears from begging? She sounds almost fearful, worried for the wellbeing of both her and her husband.
Hallucinations. As we hear in the intro, Magdalene hears a voice coming from the sky, presumably God himself, telling her to take away Isaac's things, lock him in his room, and eventually to sacrifice him! However, this is a loaded burrito you get at the gas station of symptoms. Firstly, extreme rituals: aside from the blatant filicide attempt, we see in the intro that she rips drawings off the walls, destroys the toys that Isaac had, takes away his clothing, and even locks him up in his room as 'punishment'. We also see this under ending 21/the 'mother' ending, and one of the 'nightmare' transitions between levels, that she punishes him for drawing and playing with a toy of sorts. This may also fall under persecutory delusions, as Magdalene believes that Isaac would end up becoming evil, 'just like his father' as she says, if she hadn't listened to God's words. She even prays for him after shoving him into the closet, begging for forgiveness! Most of what she does seems to be fueled by this need to appease God.
But, lets talk about another thing I brought up. Does she feel guilty? Not initially, no. Religious psychosis can make people assume that what their doing is right, or 'god's will', often blinding them to the consequences of their actions until it's far too late. However, psychosis can wear off if given medication, support, therapy, or all three, and the first symptom to fade is hallucinations, the one major thing that lead Magdalene to do what she had done. Let's take a look at some of the endings: an example would be ending 15/the missing ending, where Magdalene stands near the house, and looming on a phone pole with a missing poster is Isaac. She's still trying to look for him, but the reason goes ultimately unknown in this ending.
Endings 17/The Hush Ending and Ending 20/The Delirium Ending, however, give us more introspective. As we see in both endings, the chest opens up at some point to show Magdalene the skeletal remains of her son. Another ending that I'll point to before moving onto Mewgenics for evidence: the very last ending where you defeat the Beast. There's one small line that most people might not have paid note to (on account of sobbing a lot from the only happy ending in the game) was this quote: "He saw his mother mourning the loss of her son". After finding out that Isaac had died, Magdalene spirals into a sense of mourning, of losing the only good thing left in her life, and (presumably) commits suicide.
Which leads us into the second game she appears in, Mewgenics. We don't get to know this up until the ending, but we do indeed play as Magdalene! This isn't really well known throughout most of the game, but in the ending, if you refuse to use the nuke twice, you get this dialogue with Beanies: "Don't you remember what this monster took from you as well, Magdalene? [...] Do you not remember who you are ?!! Do you not remember your only son?! HE TOOK ISAAC! HIM!!" which, by the way... WOW. Way to hit those emotional kneecaps, doc. He mentions of how he could have saved Isaac if Maggie just pressed the button, which, to a mother who lost her son, SHOULD hurt, but our character doesn't speak at all in the game, so we're not too sure ourselves.
But that isn't the only thing I'm gonna point at for evidence of Magdalene's guilt. A song that plays on the house radio in the game, one that most people tend to overlook, "Mom I Really Hate You". Buckle in, my fellow freaks, because I'm going to analyze the song and lyrics like a motherfucker.
Firstly, the song is sung in the starting POV of a woman, asking where it all went wrong, as her heart is now frozen and her home is broken. This can easily be interpreted as Magdalene's point of view in her search to find Isaac, wondering why her son doesn't like her, feeling alone in a home that no longer feels like one due to her husband leaving and her son being nowhere to be found/dead. The next couplet of lines is also easy for me to interpret, saying that it started out so nice and then went badly, or that they've 'turned to ice'.
The bridge is quite possibly the most obvious one, "Was it so bad in our family? See the pictures of you and me" can easily circle back to Magdalene asking Isaac (possibly in a prayer to his soul) if things were really that bad, and looking back at memories of them together. She is heard to be showing much guilt, or some form of sorrowful memory loss, about what had happened that lead to Isaac dying. She asks for one last chance to prove herself to fix things, or to prove herself as a good mother.
After that, the POV switches to a more lower chorus, possibly in the POV of who I can assume is Isaac's spirit, or maybe even Magdalene's loathing thoughts of herself depending on your flavor of angst you wanna view this as. The next two verses are self explanitory, "You gave us pain, made us feel so low, go back and die you deadbeat mom", etc. She feels that her past actions echo louder than her current promises, telling her that it's far too late, and that her son wouldn't want her back after all that happened.
The next two verses are back in the female POV/Magdalene POV, where she brings up that she wants to turn back time and that her tail is in between her legs. Usually, that means that someone comes back to another person feeling one major emotion, shame. Magdalene is ashamed for how she treated Isaac, now realising that what she did was woefully wrong. She's grown old, and remembers fond memories of the past (I remember mackerel birthday cake (surprise!)) and even admits that leaving Isaac for so long (either in his room, in his situation, etc.) was a bad mistake on her part.
We switch back to the chorus POV, saying that they hate her and that she'll never be forgiven. They plug their ears from the sound of crying, and tell Magdalene that she deserves to live her days alone and in fear, just as she was when Isaac had died. In her mind, she's being told that she deserves to be alone, to be afraid, because nobody will forgive her for what she had done.
At the last four verses, they're all in the Female/Magdalene's POV, she says that she'd swim in a lake of sharks and eels, burn herself on hot coals, just to prove that she's changed. Change certainly isn't impossible, but it's no easy feat either, yet the tone in the song sounds somber and genuine, like someone attempting to be sincere in an apology to a loved one. The last lines are where it really gets me, "Is it just too late? Have I hurt you too much to open up the gate?"
Those two ending lines. I believe that those lines are Magdalene asking if with how much time has passed, with all that she had done, if it would be too late for Isaac to forgive her if Beanies were to revive him. Whether intentional or not, this captures the post-Binding of Isaac relationship (and possibly durring-game) of both Isaac and Magdalene perfectly.
Thus, in conclusion, Magdalene is far more than just 'bad'. She's complex, with layers to her that open up the more you dig into her character. The more you get into either game, you learn more about how advancedly messed up her mind is, far more than just being a bad mother, but having a struggle with addiction, psychosis, and emassing guilt post-mortem.
okay, off topic, BUT NEWS ON THE FNAF LOST MEDIA STUFF
I'M MAKING IT AN AU. FULLY FLEDGED
I talked about it on my tiktok (here), but I'll post the video here too if you don't wanna go click the link!
ALSO, TIDBITS DOWN UNDER THE CUT
-Originally, Freddy and Friends was meant to air back in the 90's-early 2000's, but due to delayed due to the original branch (the one we work in durring FNAF 1) closing down, and got scrapped fully once all branches shut down in the early 2000's (yes, BRANCHES, in my au there was more tha one Freddy's location. others fell either due to safety and health code stuff or bankruptcy)
-The cartoon versions if the characters are vastly different from the animatronics (on account of being not possessed, of course, nobody was killed to make the cartoons). This is because the cartoon showed more personality of the characters to better advertise the Freddy Fazbear's franchise, and the show had a bit more loose creative control, making the cartoon Faz-Gang moreso their own iteration, rather than just cartoonish versions of the robots
-Each of the main 4 had their own lives before the Faz-Gang had fully formed. Freddy worked with Fredbear (who in the cartoon, is his grandpa) in his cottage in the woods and make woodcarvings, Bonnie was a guitarist for a ska-band, Chica worked in a bakery out in the countryside, and Foxy had became a solo pirate after his parents died due to mutiny.
-Oh yeah, did I mention that Foxy was an orphan?
-Freddy and Bonnie had been close friends since childhood, and had kept in contact via letters after they had split up to live their lives. Once the Faz-Gang was formed, they were both super happy to see eachother! Like, hugging the other tightly and rambling type of joyful
-In the cartoon, the characters are a mix of both robot and anthropomorphic/furry characters, as seen from the Parts and Service room door in the title card for "Carl's Nigjtmare". On the outside, they're warm and fuzzy, but inside has insulation, endoskeleton parts, etc.
-(^^^) I feel like working off of this, I feel like if I worked on Mangle's design for Freddy and Friends (along with the withereds), that would probably explain this FAR better than words can.
-Instead of there being differing Nightmare Animatronics, in my AU, Nightmare can change his form to become a nightmarish version of any character in the show
-Okay... If shit didn't hit the fan, and if nothing crazy happened at Freddy's and it stayed open, the show would have been picked up by either Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network. It would have ran for maybe two seasons, and it would have had a movie, too (or, bear minimum, pun intended, an hour-long special)
-Carl doesn't really speak in the show, but rather he makes noises like a cat, kind of similar to how Gary the Snail does
-If William Afton was alive to see the scrapped Springtrap design, he would have either laughed it off, or flipped his shit at the artist who designed it. No in between
-Bonnie would love guitar hero, or any rhythm game, really.
-I have a feeling that Foxy would have an allergy to chocolate, on account of Foxes being a species of canine, and canines eating chocolate is obviously bad for them. But on account of it being a cartoon aimed towards kids, it was toned down to be an allergen rather than poisonous for him
-If Afton didn't die or kill anyone in the Spring Bonnie suit, and if the suit wasn't locked away, then Spring Bonnie would have been a secondary grandparent to Freddy, and a close "friend" of Fredbear's
-(^^^) The writers would have insinuated that Fredbear and Spring Bonnie were a queer couple, but due to it being The 2000's and Animated Show for The Youngins (tm), they had to go with 'and they were roommates' route. The rep would have been rather nuanced at the time though, with the two having appeared many times, and shown in a respectful manner
-(^^^) think of like kitty and bunny from courage the cowardly dog. got em? yeah, that basically Fredbear and Spring Bonnie in the show.
I think that's all of the tidbits I can think of for now. I'll make sure to write everything down and save it somewhere. Anyways, ask me anything about the AU! and hey, if it gets enough traction, I might make an askblog/RPblog where i can respond as the characters >:3
edit: hey, so the link kinda broke bc i had to reup the vid on tiktok bc it would not get any views despite having the tags and description at first, so here is a new link, just paste it into your searchbar bc tiktok and tumblr do NOT like me rn for some reason ohhh my god
'moe catgirl' this, 'kawaii catgirl' that... what about catgirls who eat all your food and laze abouy? the ones who knock over plants and eat your charger for the sole purpose of pissing you off? we need more mean catgirls rather than just cutsey uwu babies.

Freddy and The Faz-Bunch Lost Media AU Headcanons: The Main 4 (General + Platonic)
Hello, everyone! I'm back at it again with the headcanons, and this time, it's my FNAF AU: Freddy and Friends! This will be about the cartoon versions of the characters, since the focal point of my AU is that it was a cancelled cartoon series! (Although, I wouldn't mind writing for mainline FNAF stuff, either). Anyways, without further ado, let's get this show on the road!
(Feel free to request a character! Can either be a character you wanna see in my AU, or a character from Mainline FNAF)
No warnings needed! This work is as clean as a whistle!
THE FAZ-GANG
-The way they would most likely meet you was that you were doing odd jobs around town, either working as a janitor, stunt double, or whatever job you can think of that you can hop to and from! With how easily adaptable you are to do many jobs, they decided to allow you to stay with them as part of the crew!
-Wanna do vocals? You'll sing alongside Freddy or be backing with Chica! Have an instrument? You and Bonnie can do duets together! Are you a wild card? Oh, you and Foxy will get along swell! No matter what you do, the band will find a way for you to feel right at home and friends with the others.
-If Chica ever cooks, make sure you bring friends and family over. I am being dead serious, this chicken can cook up a whole feast fit for a fleet of vikings. Call all of your contacts, and tell them to come on an empty stomach, because yes, there will be THAT MUCH food.
-Foxy will tease you and bully you, but in a manner that best friends make fun of each other. If you ask him to stop, he will, but if you don't mind, then he finds it free game to poke fun at you when he gets the chance to.
-You would expect the last one to open up to you would be Bonnie on account of him being the shy one, but actually it was Foxy! Yeah, he isn't too good with people, but Freddy insisted that he try to talk with you, and eventually he bit the bullet and you both had a chat over some ginger ale.
FREDRICK "FREDDY" FAZBEAER
-Along with having a surprisingly high spice tolerance, Freddy is surprisingly able to handle being scared well. With being the leader in all, he's possibly the bravest of the bunch! Probably more brave than Foxy... (but don't tell foxy i said that)
-Freddy actually does have a mother and father, but they had to put him under the care of Grampy Fredbear. The reason being because they couldn't care for him due to his mother's medical bills being rather expensive; with his mother in the hospital and his father being away for so long, at the age of 7, Freddy was put under the watchful care of Fredbear.
-Freddy actually did like woodcarving at the time he lived and worked with Fredbear. He practiced starting at age 13, but didn't officially get into working/helping with shop until he was around 15-16.
-Bisexual. I don't know why, but Freddy just comes off to me as a bisexual man, maybe with a masc-leaning preference. Did he experiment in college? Maybe. (Mostly with Bonnie probably, but shush)
-When you both are close friends, he invites you for movie or game nights with him and Bonnie on the weekends. Movies often consist of comedy, but a few other genres will slip in there, too.
-As a friend, Freddy will let you talk to him about anything! Need an opinion on something? Freddy is willing to chat! Want an answer? He'll help you out! Random 3 AM thought? He doesn't know why you would be up so late, but Freddy will be there to listen!
-Freddy will rarely resort to violence. Fredbear always taught him that violence was never a solution, and that most things can be solved in a pacifist's way. Only time Freddy got into a fight was with Foxy before he joined. Freddy won, and showed good sportsmanship and fair play, which was something Foxy admired, hence why Foxy joined the Faz-Gang.
-If you're ever scared, Freddy will hold you close and reassure you that everything will be alright. He's extra soft because he's insulated with cotton stuffing!
BONNIE BUNNAVIN BUNNY
-Bonnie doesn't talk a bunch around you at first, but when you help him and Freddy out with setting up a party for a guest, he warms up to you rather quickly. After all, a friend of Freddy's is a friend of his.
-If you help him after he trips or bumps into something, he will be really thankful and end up hugging you, and his little cotton-tail will wag too. (Adorable <3)
-He absolutely loves Ska music. He will listen to some with you, and if you both like it, then it's common ground. He will attempt to get band tickets for your guys' favorite Ska groups, and even try to get a CD/Vinyl record of the group you like as a gift.
-Bonnie is shy on account of his past. He was homeschooled most of his life with SUPER protective parents, almost all the way up until 5th or 6th grade. He got along with others just fine, but he didn't make too many friends once he got enrolled
-Was super, SUPER excited to be reunited with Freddy once he joined the Faz-Gang. He worked in a Ska band as a temporary gig once he left after college and stayed in touch with Freddy via letters. Once he saw Freddy again, he got so happy that he leapt into Freddy's arms!
-A good listener. He will always hear what you have to say, whether it's a silly joke, a sincere and passionate rant, or even you just telling a story of you seeing a snail on the side of the road, Bonnie will always lend an ear.
-His room (yes, in my AU, the animatronics have their own rooms in the pizzeria, LEAVE ME ALONE-) is VERY tidy. Everything is labeled and kept in tip-top shape, nothing is misplaced, and he vacuums at least once every two weeks.
-Gay/MLM of sorts. He never really shown interest in girls of any sort in his years.
CHICADELIA "CHICA" CHICKEN
-As your friend, she is now your ride or die. Someone insults you? She will handle them like how she handled Foxy, and promptly beat them up. Feeling sad? Chica will do everything in her power to cheer you up.
-Carl, her cupcake, is the closest thing to a cat you can find in terms of sentient food. Carl is wary of you at first, but the more that Chica is around you, the more likely he is to cling to the both of you.
-Either a lesbian, or bisexual with a HEAVY fem-leaning pref.
-Knows how to knit, but also knows good axe throwing techniques. What can I say, she's a mixed bag.
-As her friend, Chica will have you test new recipes she makes. Trust me when I say this now: you will never, EVER be on an empty stomach when Chica is around.
-She's friends with El Chip, and they were friends since childhood! In my AU, he'll sometimes appear in some episodes to help out or be there for the Faz-Gang, and he even shows up in two different holiday episodes (Cinco De Mayo for Mexico's victory over the Battle of Puebla, and Dia De Los Muertos and the practices of paying respects to passed loved ones), and teaches about the Mexican culture in those episodes!
(listen, Freddy's may have swept the child murders under the rug, but they care about equal, and respectable, representation of every community, ok?)
-Will almost always resort to fighting in a conflict. Was raised opposite to Freddy: if someone tries to start something, end it. Don't start no shit, there won't be no shit. Her mama raised her to be a fighter and to DEFEND herself, she is VERY tough.
-I don't know why, but I have a feeling she had a punk rock phase in her teen years. It just feels right.
CAPTAIN FOXY MCFORROWIND
-Oh, he's either gonna be mean to you (jokingly) or flirt with you (jokingly). Maybe even both. Although it's more likely to be the first one though. But either way, he likes riling you up.
-Master rage baiter. Will piss you off.
-He's secretly afraid of losing everyone, which is why he tends to be mean somewhat. This is due to the fact that he was rather young when he lost his parents to mutiny, like around 8-9, and he used to be the sweetest fox up until that moment.
-If you are his friend, he'll often tell you stories of his times on the seven seas, each in dramatic detail, and it's honestly one of the most interesting forms of live entertainment you've ever seen.
-Also, if you are his friend, he'll be less likely to chase you down if you manage to sneakily put a bow on his tail! (Do it. Put that bow on his tail, do it for the bit. It'd be so fucking funny and cute.)
-Pansexual. No further elaboration.
-During a thunderstorm, if you two are pals and if you're scared of thunder (or bored), he'll allow you to go into Pirate's Cove with him, and you both spend the time watching sea life documentaries, pirate-themed shows, and just focus on things away from the storm.
-(^^^) And if the power's out, don't worry! He's got stories and shanties to bide your time over until the storm ends.
Well, that's all for now! I had a lot of fun writing this, so let me know what else you'd want me to write headcanons of! More of the AU? Something from the mainline game? Any specific character you want to see in the AU? Let me know either in the comments, or in my ask box! Toodles!~ <3
POV: my mood when i post about something i like that i worked on for a while, only for it to get no likes and no views when posting (i feel like nobody cares and that i was talking to a wall the whole time)
