Here's the full comic/zine I made in my first year of university. It's based on an old tumblr post (which I know isn't scientifically accurate but it's about the metaphor and stuff) by @cloudmancy

It isn't perfect. I was quite new to using my tablet and I had to rush it towards the end but I like the idea of it ^^ and who doesn't like drawing cute lesbian dinosaurs?

The False Self goes beyond its defensive quality and becomes the entirety of emotional and relational life. Accommodating the “world-as-it-is” as the “world-as-it-should-be-for-me” leads to brittleness of structure and functioning. The ordinary “knocks” in life become shattering or life is lived to avoid any major challenges. The person is found, or finds himself, “wanting” in some quality, as though something is missing in his self.

My tester colour schemes for my comic/zine characters and their final refsheets. Not perfect but I had a deadline so I don't mind. I'm still happy with it. They are cute together I think.

Poko, from what I can recall, is a teenage girl with very long, dusty blonde hair. She has a kind smile. The first time I met her, she had striking eyes that had yellow irises and bright red sclerae. She also had markings on her cheeks that were the same red color. (If I remember to I'll draw her.)

The false me that may or may not have replaced me in the waking world

Towards the beginning of the dream, I was given a warning that at some point, a false version of me would appear. I was given instructions to go through a gateway to deal with them when the time came, because if I didn't, they would replace me. Later on in the dream, they appeared, and immediately pursued me. I raced to the gateway, my false self right on my heels, and I got /so close to it/, and then I woke up. For a good few moments as my waking brain kicked in, I was terrified, because I "didn't know if I'd made it" and, if I hadn't, that made me, the real person, the false self who had just killed/trapped the original forever.

additional: Though I remember it vividly, and usually type up everything from my dreams I can remember as soon as possible, the only note I have on this particular dream is the warning that was echoing in my head as I woke: "Maybe you can run for a while, but your false self will replace you eventually!"

I don't think it's healthy for me to have to worry about pleasing so many disembodied people just in order to... what? That's how my personality was wrecked in the first place. I don't have any other value in relation to social spheres. If I fail, I don't really exist in my own mind. I can't live up to my own expectations. I can't do things just naturally bc I've conditioned myself to do it for a return in fake social points
