Closing in on all the dialogue being animated for the lights of Alchera path...
Then just two more branches, which are both shorter...
And then the scene will finally be done, and I can get back to the texture edit to give this moment the final push it needs.
After that, just the wake-up scene, game ending content, Citadel content, and a couple of idle ambients here and there... Then, Hatboy for OT will be done, and I can work on the Legendary Edition version.
The synth has received an update that allows me to have a degree of control over inflection. This has allowed me to go back and edit one or two key lines that I just couldn't get decent reads out of, and have ended up being better as a result.
Modding scene-wise, there's investigations into making a system to allow modders to create entirely bespoke audio banks, which would cut down on the more unstable elements of this creation process. Right now, new audio is created by sourcing and temporarily replacing audio from elsewhere in the game that is guaranteed not to be found in loaded memory at the time of the edited conversation. It's done in such a way of course that the player never runs into a problem with it, but it can create memory issues, and setting up the files to do this can be laborious and annoying.
There are investigations into finding ways we might be able to use the Dragon Age Modding toolkit's FaceFX generation system to spit out files that ME's FFXE will like... This would mean that the most laborious and time intensive part of hand animation would be rendered obsolete... but again, this is a long ways off. Intriguing developments on it, though.
From my perspective, the most challenging part of trying to investigate that is trying to get the Dragon Age modding toolset working on my PC, as it's very arcane to try and do so on Windows 10 for long and boring technical reasons.
That said... The tools and technology I have worked with and contributed to since starting this project do things I could never have imagined when I first began, so who's to say what they will be able to do in future!
