The anxiety it gives you to portray your own characters as fucked up is weird and I think that's part of why I like Fallen London so much.

Like, yeah, everyone's ocs are kinda awful and have a bunch of things going on that would be considered vilification in many other contexts but. We all understand that's not the thing going on here. We all just enjoy our guys being fucked up and giving them trauma that would naturally lead to lots of bad choices and questionable or even bankrupt morality. Like, of course the jaded person who has suffered loss and isolation is jaded and the people who were given a skewed view of personhood are going to act on that view. We're all growing dandelions and weeds in our cement crack garden to see how they bend and twist and bloom into fascinating examples of a will to live in spite of it all, sometimes by fighting and killing for what little light and water they can get.

don’t think of kaz seeing little kaz in that moment. him and his brother, alive, walking into the bank. finding out everything was gone. the moment they realised what had happened. just two pigeons waiting to be plucked

Seven Days (MC’s POV) - Day 6

When I woke up, Beel was no longer in my room. He had laid me down on my bed and he surrounded me with pillows and cupcakes and an “I love you” note. 

I checked my D.D.D. I got two messages. From Mammon and Barbatos.

“Oi, human. When will it be my turn?” - Mammon.

“MC, are you still fine?” - Barbatos.

I both gave my reply to them and soon as I was ready, I went to Levi’s room. 

“Password.” He said behind his door. 

“Henry is Lord Shadow’s friend.” I answered confidently. I heard his infamous laugh while saying ‘Access granted’ and let me in.

“Is it my turn now, right?” He asked feeling giddy. 

“Yup. I want to spend a whole day with you and of course, we’re going to sleep in my room!”

“Great! Here, a new anime that got released yesterday. I was about to tell you the good news but Beel wouldn’t let me in, said you were sleeping.” He complained.

“Sorry.”

He immediately played the anime and in the first few parts, it has the same scenes like what I experienced with all the brothers... but at the end, Levi and I both cried when the protagonist died.

“Fuck Akuzon! The reviews stated that it was supposed to be a happy one!” He yelled, a bit frustrated.

I laughed while I wiped the tears flowing down my face. “Yeah. They really like fooling you, don’t they?”

“Ugh. So unfair!” He yelled again, but after a few seconds he smiled, “It’s fine. At least, we will have a happy ending, right, my Henry?”looking at me.

Levi and I went to my room and did some cosplay. He did a great job with my costume. We managed to do 10 anime at once and both of us felt exhausted after.

“I’m going to tell something cheesy, MC.” 

“What is it?”

“You made my otaku life so much better. I want to be your best friend in your lifetime.”

I hugged Levi and I felt his body trembled a little. “MC!”

“Yes, Levi. We’re bestfriends. So even if I die, don’t forget me, okay?”

“Eh? You sound like I won’t see you again. Stop being so dramatic, MC.” He said as he hugged me back.
