think i'll let you decide on the time line- durring or before Rebels. We don't have any actual info on how or when exactly Wolffe and Gregor joined Rex, after all.
Rex sat on a crate, fidgeting with his blaster and holster as Ahsoka stood next to him, holding a conversation on her wrist comm.
When he decided the fabric parts were repaired enough, he stood up and clipped them back in place on his belt. Then he picked up his helmet and slipped it over his head to test the wiring.
Ahsoka sighed as she powered off her comm and Rex looked over at her, his helmet tilting in a quizzical way.
"I have to leave soon. Another call."
Ahsoka chuckled at the static the filters made and reached forward to remove his helmet. "Later today." She didn't expect him to shrink away when she pulled it up.
She looked at him in confusion.
"Sorry" Rex said, lifting the helmet off and holding it under one arm.
"Ah- it was nothing. I just, ah.."
Ahsoka hummed. He sounded nervous.
Without warning she darted her fingers along the side of his neck and he squeaked, instantly pushing his ear to his shoulder and ducking away a bit.
He gave her a sheepish look and she grinned at him. "You're ticklish, Captain? How did i not know this?"
"Well, uh.." was all he said.
Ahsoka didn't need an explanation. Instead, she saved him the effort by testing this new discovery again, making Rex splutter and shrink away
Ahsoka shot him another grin before looking across the platform at Wolffe and Gregor who were having some kind of argument that involved Wolffe aggressively talking with his hands and Gregor laughing at his clear annoyance.
"You think Wolffe and Gregor are too?" Ahsoka asked Rex.
Rex only managed a half shrug, still baffled.
"Hey Wolffe! Gregor! C'mere a sec!"
"What's up Commander?" Gregor said happily upon approach, his other comrade following close behind. Wolffe gave him a disapproving glare.
"I wanna try something. Hold still." Ahsoka said, standing in front of Wolffe.
Wolffe watched her in confusion as she flicked her fingers across his neck.
Wolffe looked up to find Rex staring at him like he'd been betrayed.
"Well that's interesting." Ahsoka said, moving in front of Gregor and repeating her action. Gregor didn't even flinch.
"That's very interesting."
"Sir?" Wolffe said, looking for an explanation at the strange experiment.
She turned to Rex who looked anywhere but at her face, red starting to creep over his cheeks.
She chuckled. "Good grief, Rex, relax. It's not that bad."
"You gonna tell us what this is about?" Gregor asked, eyebrows raised at Rex's relatively flustered expression.
"Rex here," she said, gently scratching at the side of his neck and making him snap back with a yelp at the sudden contact. "Is ticklish."
Wolffe stared at him for a second before breaking into an evil grin, the scarred eye making him look even more unnerving. "I think our brother forgot to mention that."
"Yeah, he did." Ahsoka grinned mischeviously.
Rex seemed to growl before tackling Ahsoka and worming his fingers under her arms, earning a surprised yelp and sudden bubbly laughter.
"And I'm not the only one, kid!" Rex sang.
