his chapter focuses on the literal definition of insanity.
Voice of the Insane
Similar to contrarian, where he gives advice for what you should do, but while contrarian isn't aware of the consequences of his actions, insane is well aware and straight up doesn't care.
He pretty much purposely tells you to do things that could get you in trouble, or worse.
He doesn't have his own voice, instead being a spliced mess of the others voice lines, a word from something smitten says, a few from cheated. Something from the nightmare chapter, something from happily ever after. He just cant use narrator lines.
Insane: "darling hero. keep on track" (voices in order: Smitten, Hero, Hunted, Opportunist)
If he wasn't focused on his "job" he would likely enjoy the princess, sharing in their mutual insanity, but sadly that insanity is what drives them farther away as they both make the worst choices.
Chapter I
entering the basement, your choice of to blade or not to blade is not important.
you talk to the princess and start asking questions.
eventually you repeat the same one over and over
"What do we do now?"
years seem to pass as the words just fall from your mouth.
eventually the princess snaps, her hands ending up around your throat, choking you out.
she is audibly surprised by her own actions.
After a moment You hear teeth ripping into meat like a wild animal tearing flesh from bone
everything goes dark, and you die.
Chapter II The Lunitic
entering the cabin you find it messed up, patterns in the wrong spot, it just looks off, it all makes sense, but its like someone decorated it with their eyes closed.
insane tells you to leave the blade, you don't need it where you're going.
but you can still take it. Insane is a little upset you didn't listen to him, but he lets it go.
insane find the mirror interesting, telling you to look at it just because it bothers the narrator.
you enter the basement, the space is big, the princess stands at the end of the room, the space between you larger than before.
"Is that you? Do you feel like actually talking with me, or do you plan to drive us both even more insane?"
if you talk to her, you can find the dialogue option once again "What do we do now?" which takes a lot less repetitions to get her to snap.
she jumps at you but you dodge, barely missing her.
you tumble and fight, but she gets the best of you, hands digging into your shoulders, keeping you in place.
you can try to worm out from under her. (hunted)
cut her stomach with your talons. (Cheated)
alternatively you can slay her, or try to atleast.
you step forward, blade in hand. you dash forward, blade glinting.
she flitches, bur watches as your blade sinks into her heart. she falls, laying on the ground.
she thanks you, for putting and end to this.
she lays there
"it's kind of cold... but that's what happens when you die, isn't it?"
and she is taken
or try to free her
entering the basement, either with or without your blade, you offer you hand to the princess
you two can get out of here, forgive and forget.
she accepts your apology, she pulls against her chains, tugging and tugging till her hand rips off. she follows you.
both insane and the narrator yell at you.
hero is the only one who thinks this is a good idea.
nearing the exit, she turns to you with a smile "thanks"
before you get transported back (Contrarian)
Chapter III The Spiral
her land is twisted and warped, the path no longer clear or linear.
it's an adventure getting to the cabin itself.
the basement is the same, a labyrinth, her voice echo's against the walls taunting you.
it doesn't take you too long to find her, mania twisting her form.
you can do the same thing. asking that same question.
it doesn't take many repeats of the phrase for her to snap. chasing you.
you don't move, the words coming out like second nature, like blinking or breathing.
the world falls out from around you
"it's cold" "it is cold right? I'm not imagining it?"
and she is taken.
if you have hunted he will make you take the blade and try to kill her, but even as still as she is from years staying still, the Insane distracts you, making your movements sloppy.
this changes slightly based on bonus voices, but in the end neither of you can do real damage, a few scratches at best.
locked in eternity of trying the same things, eventually the princess grows tired, and cold. and she is taken from you.
Chapter III Dread
your on a path in the woods
Connie- "what the- haven't we already done this?"
hero- "not again, i thought that was going to be it!"
this one isn't super planned out, gotta figure out how the victim and lunatic would fuse like this lol,
Two of my friends wanted to draw me, so here are both of their drawings. I did not make these. Neither of them have Tumblr accounts so I can’t give them credit unfortunately.
