The Mandalorian S2 by Anton Grandert #3
Luke, to Din: You wanna fight? All right, let’s take this outside. The stars are so bright tonight and the moon looks so nice. Here, hold my hand—
[Podfic Link] | Length: 28 minutes, 33 seconds
Original Work: move my feet towards your body (i can hear this beat) by @siderealdei [Siderea on ao3]
Star Wars: Jango Fett/Obi-Wan Kenobi | Rating: Teen & Up
Summary:
The Rid'oya'karir hasn't been called in centuries. Just Obi-Wan's typical luck that the Manda chose him, out of all possible beings, to step up to the challenge, so to speak. Following in the footsteps of Revan, Tarre, and perhaps a dozen others that he knows of, he will go to Mandalore, enter one of their forests, and run - until the Force and the Manda tell him the 'right person' has caught him.
Notes: my final fic to be posted for @fandomtrumpshate 2024! Requested by my incredible friend @wanderingjedihistorian, who waited oh so patiently for this, which was supposed to be posted by her birthday at the very latest. Alas, here we are, December 27th. All that to say, I hope you enjoy!

Once there was an army, hundreds of millions strong, of Jaster Mereel’s grandchildren. And Jaster Mereel, Mand’alor the reformer, the last great hope that failed, looked down on his bu’ad and he ached.
Then the Jedi fell and in one moment hundreds of thousands of brilliant lights were snuffed out, and the force in every corner of the galaxy screamed and screamed.
And order sixty six went out and in one moment hundreds of millions of warm glows were smothered and the Manda screamed.
to celebrate the release of the new season I made these guys now listed in my shop! link in the bio , shares and saves are greatly appreciated 🫶🏻✨
Korkie, upon meeting little Satine and baby Bo-Katan: “Huh, there are only two of them. Where the heck did I come from then?”
The Manda, watching this with a communal bowl of popcorn: “This bitch is an idiot.”
Poetry indeed.
Okay so, in regards to Mando's sex-drive, I've noticed the fandom is politely split between him being a "blushing virgin" or a "fuck-fiend". And I have to say, I'm a slut for both honestly, and I appreciate that we're of differing views but we all still really enjoy the headcanons no matter what, so thumbs up for being respectful, looking good everybody! ❤
My guy-friend and I actually had a discussion about Mando's love-life, the reason why I'm mentioning my friend's gender is because I know that men/women (statistically-speaking, there is a grey area to work with) tend to view sex/intimacy in different ways (for the record I myself am a female). Men typically focus on the primal/it-is-what-it-is nature of sex, while women typically are more emotional where sex is concerned (though the opposite is entirely possible as well, this is all just a general assumption mind you, naturally there's room to argue otherwise).
I've explained to my friend the "blushing virgin" to "fuck fiend" spectrum that the fandom has in place and he automatically went with the "fuck fiend" explanation. Well it's a given that he would think that honestly, most men are usually thinking about the "one thing" (most of the men I've hung out with do anyways). Once blood rushes to the penis, it's hard to be logical, like Robin Williams used to say (paraphrased): God gave man a penis and a brain, and only enough blood to operate one at a time. So Mando being a fuck-fiend is a possibility, he has needs after all, just like any human, so he's going to want to deal with it if possible, or run the risk of his discomfort getting the best of him at the wrong time. It makes sense that if he's on a job for a certain amount of time, and he's in close proximity to a female (or a male, his sexuality is still a bit of a mystery), if the two of them have an understanding he may want to take advantage of what is available to get himself off.
But that leaves the question: How often does Mando need to get off?
He never seems to truly rest, he's always on alert, I'd imagine he doesn't get worked up so easily. Something tells me it takes a truly unique combination of things to trigger his primal needs, if it was as simple as an adrenaline-rush the dude would've flirted with Cara and asked her to indulge him for a quickie or something. But he didn't, so that leads to another possibility: Mando is aromantic (I'm sure there's a more appropriate analysis, but this is what I have so far). I'm a sucker for virgin!Mando, it makes for nice fluff, and while I can see why many would think he is given his touch-starved nature, I'm not 100% on the virgin!Mando bandwagon. I think it's partly because I just can't see him avoiding his primal urges for as long as the show would imply.
My friend referenced the "one and done" bit from Zombieland, and it seems to fit, Mando probably only engages in sexual activities just to get it out of his system and be done with it. He doesn't seem to emotionally connect with that part of his life, to him it's business. The thing with Xi'an in episode 6 had me wondering about his past, particularly their history together. Xi'an could very well have just been running her mouth, it's entirely possible she was just trying to get under his skin. It's heavily implied they were lovers, but her general attitude seems to be a turn-off for Mando, and he doesn't seem to want to be close to her again. If he was a "fuck fiend" I'd imagine he would be more inviting of her proximity, but his callous demeanor leads me to think she's more talk than anything. Perhaps the idea of being with a Mandalorian was too good not to exaggerate, and Mando is often quiet, so his silence leaves the subject open for interpretation. If he's not answering, the others are left to speculate and form their own versions of the truth.
Virgin!Mando is a very real possibility, and if that's the case I feel that Xi'an was hoping to be the one to pop the cherry, but was probably feeling miffed that he didn't give in, so she resorts to putting him on the spot in front of other men, hoping to rile him up. Of course Mando doesn't take the bait, he usually doesn't, he's too smart for that. He can't let them see too much of what makes him tick, that is essential to his survival. He is a Mandalorian after all, and the key to their collective survival is to remain aloof and mysterious.
If he ever does allow himself to be intimate with someone, it's not going to be because of a need to get himself off, he's going to want to established a deeply-embedded level of trust first.
