Okay, back to finally spreading more info. -_-

The last locations are the bases/multiversal households that people live in, when they can and want to.

Some alternate’s hang out there too! These locations aren’t all just for the Alternate Realities of this place... Remember that I guess.

It now includes a short description of the office strictly for threads with @fullstop-roleplays, and the office Stanley Johnson and Arthur are from. I'll update it when there is more information on them! 😁

The Offices

Some time later, reaching on into the decades or even centuries ahead, humanity will find that it is entering into new technological frontiers which make the impossible possible. Unfortunately human culture has not evolved nearly as fast and we find that the same doldrums of life persist.

Property development firms were some of the first to take on the use of nanoswarm technology. Able to build anything from the most basic materials, feed it gravel and dirt or even let it gradually take the carbon from the air... and the swarms will build anything your heart desires.

So, of course, the corporations were eager to use this technology to produce endless amounts of soul-sucking office spaces. Bland cubicles, empty hallways, corridor after corridor of meeting rooms. Empty buildings on which to push human ambitions to the limit... in the pursuit of financial gain... of course.

The swarms just built modular spaces from programmatic rules, kept within the geometric and geographic limits of where the offices were supposed to be. The swarms followed these procedures as they understood them, but somehow starting slipping into n-dimensional spaces which we didn’t even knew existed. These spaces were nothing before, and so relativity basically never reached them.

As more and more accidental slips happened... people getting lost in the void of these strangely liminal extra-dimensional spaces, these offices were shut down due to the liability. No one could destroy them because the swarms simply rebuilt. They were utterly empty until somehow they were repurposed for prisons.

The only flaw was that all the extradimensional spaces were linked. Prisoners could, in theory, escape through the hidden corridors if they could find a way to an untended building. It’s just that no one had ever done so before.
