sometimes i think how...big, how noble it is that when anthony burgess lost his wife to rape from a bunch of young criminals he decided to tell the story from the point of view of the criminal in such a way that we get to feel pity for the criminal.
but then i realize that we feel pity because most of the story is about the criminal being terribly abused both physically and psycologically non stop and then we have one last chapter slapped in a the end where the criminal just grows up out of nowhere and decides to be good
