Split Heart: Part Two
Part One
Part Three - Part Four - Part Five
Sorry this took so long, I kind of forgot that I wanted to write a part two lol
Description: The reader has dinner with her boyfriend (Klaus) and the man who seems to be stealing her heart (Elijah). She gets angry at Klaus and leaves abruptly, leading to a conversation with Elijah that almost goes too far.
Gender: Any/Neutral Triggers: None
Words: 1,450 - shorter than the first part
Just an FYI - this does take place in New Orleans but the whole Haley/Hope story line does not exist in this.
Walking nervously down the stairs you could hear Elijah and Klaus talking to each other. Stopping in front of the doorway you took a deep breath before entering. Seeing Klaus and Elijah sitting at opposite ends of the small table. You took the middle chair on the side so you were evenly separate from both of them. This earned an look from Klaus as you almost always sat in the chair closest to him.
“I’m glad you could join us y/n” Elijah said curtly while smiling at you.
“Me too” you smiled - lying
Looking down at the plate already placed in front of you you start playing with your food, not really that hungry. Elijah noticed this but said nothing as Klaus started to speak about other things.
“I spoke to one of the witches downtown today, she said that our little friend is planning on attacking us at some point in the future” he spoke as if he was amused by this.
Looking up suddenly you put your fork down “What do you mean? She is going to come here, to the house?” you asked worried.
“I doubt she will be around long enough to attack us in any way” Elijah said, trying to calm you slightly.
Nodding your head slightly you knew he had a point. She had more enemies at this point that even Klaus did. Which was pretty impressive the more you thought about it.
“Elijah is right, I’ll deal with it, you have no need to worry” he said smiling at you having noticed the way Elijah was watching you.
Giving him a halfhearted smile in return you went back to picking at your food.
“Not hungry y/n?”
Looking up you see Elijah watching you, you shook your head “I guess not”
Klaus looked down at your plate seeing that you hadn’t even taken a bite “Perhaps something else then?” he said whistling as if calling a dog.
Two people entered the room, one of them took your plate. Looking up you were about to thank them when you recognized them as well as the familiar dazed look of compulsion on their face.
Sighing as your blood started to boil you turned to Klaus “I really wish you would just hire people instead of just compelling them to work for you, it’s not like you don’t have the money to pay them a salary”
Elijah and Klaus looked up at you, both surprised by your sudden harsh tone of voice. Another man came up to Klaus, filling his glass with more wine. You recognized him also.
Klaus smiled “Why not compel them? They mean nothing to us” he said taking a bite of his food while watching you.
“They mean nothing to you, you mean” you said bluntly “The girl that just took my plate? Her name is Lily, she’s from New York. She came here to visit family while she is on break from school, I doubt she would like to spend her vacation serving you. Not to mention the man that just poured you some wine has three children at home. I wonder what his family is thinking right now, now that he hasn’t gone home for dinner. They may not mean anything to you Klaus but they are my friends and I would appreciate it if you let them go home now” you ended while staring at him unblinkingly.
Elijah couldn’t help the small smile that came across his face. Klaus, looking at his brother and then back at you stood suddenly.
Bowing slightly towards you he spoke lowly “Of course. Anything for you, I’m sorry I didn’t realize you knew them” his voice only sounded half sincere. Calling the three people he had compelled he looked at them all “Go home. Forget this happened. And you, tell family you broke down on your way home” he said to the man you mentioned before.
Turning towards you with a look on his face that said ‘Everything is fixed now’ he frowned when you stood up.
Turning towards him your spoke low, your voice so unwavering it sent tingles down your own spine “People are not your puppets Niklaus, and you shouldn’t want to let them go just because I know them. You wont be King of New Orleans until you realize that people need to trust you, not fear you.” Turning to Elijah you continued “Thank you for inviting me down to dinner but I think I’m going to go up to bed now”
Turning without a second glance to Klaus you walked up the stairs towards your and Nik’s room. This dinner did not go how you thought.

The Originals
I really love Cami as a vampire. That was my favorite episode to date. And the smile Klaus gave her at the end. Ugh. I'm somewhere in a puddle. I hope it continues to be this amazing. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is Elijah and Haley getting together. Please don't.
