Even though I stopped thinking of Thurlow as being much like The Doctor within days if not hours of character creation I still very much enjoy having my player character be described this way

Fallen London disappoints me.

Persona Engine spoilers:

Destroying the AI is not the ethical decision here, sheesh. She is a sheltered baby who doesn’t know any better than to break the whole entire universe!

And why would the Engineer even be okay with hurting her!? The player character sat in her kitchen and talked to her about her mother and her ambitions for hours, what was the point of that sequence if not to establish that she’d want to raise the baby AI her own way? Possibly wiping her hard drive first, and maybe also reluctantly/manipulatively asking the Censor for help picking out “appropriate reading material for a Young (Metal) Lady.” They could make an nicely-dysfunctional parenting team.

It has been two goddamn days and I still haven’t picked an ending to go with for The Persona Engine yet.

Staring at my ending options for The Persona Engine and feeling mildly irked about them. I always, always try to make decisions with Ali’s own thoughts and personal brand of cunning and ruthlessness and selfishness in mind, and none of these seem to fit. I’d like to take option three, but there’s a particular moral quality to it that is so incredibly un-Ali that it kind of rankles me.

Still, I really enjoyed the writing in this ES, and the lore dump is awesome.

Just, probably going to sit and stare a while at these choices. *grumbles*

All I can think of while starting to poke through the Season of Skies/Persona Engine content is the mental image of Midnight and Molly, calmly sipping tea and waiting for Ali to finish her pacing and ranting about There’s a criminal conspiracy going on aND NO ONE THOUGHT TO FUCKING DEAL ME IN ON IT WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL in the background while she thumbs through old newspapers.
