POLISH PYRO LETS GO POLANDDD 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
LISTEN IT FITS THEM SO INCREDIBLY WELL, I'M NOT EVEN JOKING IT'S CANON IN MY HEART.
Noone sees it but it's in text It's canon in my heart. Polish v!Pyro my beloved!
Polish v!Pyro Propaganda here for your enjoyment:
-Jack Pyroscythe the Australian from irl stated that v!Pyro would be from around Germany, on top of that we can assume that VSMP (from Pyros POV at least) is happening in the 1880s ("Put V!Pyro in a 100 year long nap so he can wake up in the 1980s" comment). Also Czesław is a polish name!
-During this era Germany was a highly militaristic Empire, straight from unification. At the time sizable part of Poland was under their rule as per partition (the rest was split between Russia and Austria). In fact the largest non-German speaking population of the German Empire was the Polish, about 6%. The culture is influenced by thier military power, there is whole thing around fencing and getting scars from it on your face to show how badass you are (THIS IS SOMETHING THAT STUDENTS DO)! But! There is also quite a lot of industrialization happening and over all economical progress. Prussian aristocracy is rigid and conservative. It's the Bismarck's time!
-Like I said, during this period of time Poland doesn't actually exist but it doesn't mean that Polish people sit on thier butts. During the partition of Poland the corresponding Empire tried to assimilate the polish into thier societies, this varied between the 3 parts of Poland but some did assimilate while others didn't and tried to gain back to independence. Which leads us to:
-This timeframe perfectly aline itself with with January Uprising (1863/4), an effort in Russian ruled side of Poland to gain independence, the Russian side was supported by Germany (Prussia at the time). Polish people in Prussia, however, were supporting the Uprising, mostly. This is a whole mess that I won't get into detail here but the most important things are as follow: The Uprising grew into myth even during it's time, it was heavily romantiscised in literature and had even bigger support across all 3 parts of Poland even amongst the civilians. (There was a whole thing about dressing in black as a sign of protest and symbolic mourning) It failed, horribly. Which lead to a shift in culture in Poland, from narratives of the romantic just battles for independence (in literature you see it in works of authors such as Mickiewicz) towords Polish Positivism movement which focused on modernization of the infrastructure and education of the nation in hopes of peaceful regain of independence (think Lalka by Brus, Lalka was published in the late 1880s).
-Now let's look at what we know about pre canon v!Pyro. He was a student (something to do with sociology) who didn't get along with his parents nor peers. The consensus from what Pyro the Australian has said about the reasoning for that was that they were a bit of a loner and had strange interests such as the infrastructure, specifically of sewer systems. He's kind of a loser who doesn't fight or speak up for themselves. He's a nerd.
-With the historical context we can assume that the dislike of thier parents towords them comes from unmet expectations, he's a disappointment. A son of man who most likely values physical strength and prowess over academia (as per time period sympathies), and a woman who would be expected to socialize one way to do so would be through her children - a loner loser gives HER a bad reputation. We know that v!Pyro once fancied a girl and was rejected. Even that would have negative influence on his mother's reputation in such a society. No wonder they hate them, he's a loser who can't fight nor has any social skills he is a proof of thier failures to raise a proper child.
-However the nerd who is interested in sewers perfectly fits with the archetype of the perfect positivism man. Those are intrests that would be perceived as desirable - proper modern Polish nobel of the 1880s focuses on academia and education of the illiterate, they work on the improvement of thier environment, bringing the newest inventions to the populous and working to improve POLAND even if it's under the rule of a different Empire currently it will one day benefit the independent Poland of the future. Again, this is what Wokulski in Lalka is like, he works on charity and helping the poor (when he's not chasing after his crush that is but that's not the espect thats relevent to the topic at hand). Time for fighting is in the past, it didn't worked.
-Furthermore there is more aspects of Polish literature and mentality with v!Pyro then just the positivism movement. V!Pyro is prideful and stubborn, flaws common in Polish Nobility. The main problem with Szlachta was that they were all prideful jackasses who couldn't work together well enough. This is THE stereotype of them, prideful and stubborn to the point of stupidity. They live and die by thier pride. Which is VERY v!Pyro and you can see it all over the smp - if i had to point out some specific moments i would focus your attention on when Apo pushed them off the bridge Or when they went BACK into the fight with the militia cuz they got too cooky and died cuz of it.
-On top of that we have to address one very important point: he's quest for ravange. After they gave up on seeking the curr and embraced being a monster they take up the quest for ravange against those who wronged them. They are violent and are openly speaking about going back to the Capitol and punishing everyone who crossed him, no matter how big or small that act was. It's a bit jarring contrast between what we used to know them as - a scared student who got violently attacked and over all was quite kind and friendly to the other people around them all things considered. People been compering it to Jekyll and Hyde which I don't agree with fully but I do know a fictional characters from a classic literature that underwent a similiar transformation. Which brings me to my final point:
-The first example is from Dziady 3 by Mickiewicz, the main thing in there is the transformation of the main character - Gustaw/Konrad from Gustaw - a romantic poet™ into Konrad - violent jackass who wants to kill the Russian Tzar in hopes of liberating Poland. HE'S INSANE AND A MEGALOMANIAC AND THINKS HE'S SOME SORT OF SAVIOUR. HE HAS A WHOLE MUSICAL NUMBER SONG ABOUT HOW HE'S A VAMPIRE AND SHALL USE IT AGAINS ALL WHO HE SEES AS ENEMY. HE SINGS HOW THEY NEED TO TURN HIS ALLIES TOO. I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING, MICKIEWICZ WROTE THAT IN 1832
-The other one is Rodya from Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky, who is literally like vPyro fr but that's a topic for a different day. Also it's a Russian book, so it doesn't add to the Polish!v!Pyro propaganda but i wanted to mention it.
-Homeboy is just a polish dude born after 1864 to parents who assimilated with the German society trust, it's canon, I'm not insane, you can come closer. Jacek von Pyroscythe what did they do to you
Could I perhaps get a silentfaith maybe...
