what the elements really are is something that i've kind of been playing around with for a long time since they aren't straight-up just like fire and water and because the elements were technically based off of characters so their traits need to match the traits of their "Representatives", but here's what's been getting kicked around:
piqua represents passion, hence why it's kind of a heart. it gets associated with fire a lot bc it's such an intense and fiery (ba dum tish) element. beings associated with piqua tend to be hot-headed and strong and they're going to win. the stat associated with it is strength.
saszyl is about loyalty but also about energy?? when i made the symbol i had those pulsar things in mind; energy radiating from a single point and kind of echoing outward. saszyl beings tend to be like that - they're the kinds of people who speak up and have their voice be heard and don't hesitate to make their ideas obvious. the stat associated with it is accuracy.
jasma is about radiance and leadership, so it's sort of like a weird half-sun that shines on those below it. kind of associated with light and is almost sort of a combo of piqua and saszyl honestly. the stat associated with it is agility.
minoav is about willpower and growth, about overcoming odds and bringing life to places there was none. it kinda looks like a flower bc it's about blooming in adversity. the stat associated with it is sp.
xafine is about about obtaining and sharing knowledge, hence why it looks kinda like a wi-fi signal honestly. it tends to be associated with technology, hence why the stat associated with it is the equivalent of a "tec" stat. or vice-versa. Whatever ok
beris is about durability, both physically and mentally. those associated with it tend to be able to flow and adapt while still maintaining strength; it looks kinda like a tear drop at the top to represent the flow of water and then solidifies into a wall at the bottom. the stat associated with it is defense.
amasia is about vision - being able to see beyond the basics, beyond the surface. it's about being able to see into the deeper meanings of things and embrace things you can't even begin to grasp, if that makes any sense. it vaguely resembles an eye... sorta... the stat associated with it is magical attack.
etuile is about passion, but in a more delicate way than piqua i guess?? it's more about love and believing in yourself and others and hanging on through difficult things and yeah it's basically a hybrid of piqua and beris but with a candy-coated exterior. i basically just made like the cutest symbol i could think of honestly. the stat associated with it is "passion" which is the stat that determines healing power
ndaln is about vitality, sort of a mix of saszyl and beris. it's about being able to hang in there, about being strong mentally even when there's nothing you physically can do. the symbol kind of looks like a wall, like a shield built around oneself. the stat associated with it is hp
othel is about flexibility and being able to adapt and get used to anything. it's about being willing to take risks and head into unfamiliar territory because you know you can handle it no matter what happens. the stat associated with it is luck. the symbol... idk it's the one that changes the most. thinking about putting "spikes" on the top half too so it's almost like a division sign, and it's unique in that it has two circles instead of one, so i think i'll probably end up switching it with...
cequoce is about balance. balance between brains and brawn, mind and matter, just keeping everything about you in balance and not treating the world like it's black and white. cequoce tends to be sort of like the normal type in pokemon in that it's the default but also has essentially no strengths or weaknesses - you're probably either pretty weak or you're arceus. the symbol is essentially just something that's supposed to be the same on each side, but i think othel's proposed change suits it better especially given the unique double dots. there is no stat associated with it. it is about everything in balance, after all!
lulet is about... idk my old file says stability but that's pretty covered. the Representative and the symbol are kind of about elegance and flow and strength blooming in delicate ways. the symbol has gotten changed around more than othel but for now sort of resembles a flower while also being sort of radiant like saszyl and jasma. the stat associated with it is magical defense.
