Last friday, Kevin Smith performed his own brand of stand up storytelling comedy at the Rio Theater in Vancouver.  The event was a benefit for the Rio itself which has to be able to basically own its own building if its going to survive as an amazing venue for both movies (many showings of classics, a great place to see the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy in one showing!) and live acts.  Mr Smith sold out 2 back to back shows and told a harrowing and deeply funny tale of his recent near fatal heart attack.  He also had anecdotes about working on Supergirl and The Flash productions that shoot in town.  He was funny, generous and very polite, he always managed to say “bless you” whenever anyone in the crowd sneezed!   There may be more nights with Kevin Smith at the Rio in the future.  If so I suggest anyone in range should definitely try and make it out.  Both for the entertainment and to support the Rio!
