There is a disappointing lack of Hallorann/Reader, and I'm quite surprised...
Perplexed, even.

Up side down cat
The concept of Stebbins having the shine
He’d so do the Danny finger thing
This is an old post of mine that I'm remaking cause I can shush
I was inspired today when I rewatched rise of the guardians again with the Russian dolls and cores to figure out one for each loser that kind of fits with their shining I guess. I have no idea how successful this'll be so feel free to add to this if you have your own ideas:
Bill - Family - He brings the losers together as a found family and its his value in it that pushes him to pursue the thing that took his brother. His ability to bring people together and lead them brought the losers together as a group, and this manifests as his ability to feel their presence even when they're not there, like when he feels them arriving in Derry and connect with them in thoughts, he feels their bonds and when they waver and snap.
Mike - Memories - Everything about memories is so important to Mike. No matter how painful or scary or unimportant, he believes its important that it is always remembered. His shining allows him to almost supernaturally understand and see old memories and history in things that provide him with the context he needs. The stuff that when taken away, prevents people from being who they were, prevents the ignorance that would stop them fighting Pennywise.
Eddie - Bravery/Sincerity - everything at his core pushes Eddie towards his core value: that if you care about it, you should be brave enough to fight for it/express it. Everything around him tries to dampen down this in him and confuse him and lie to him, like his mother, like the bullies at school, about the world around that leaves him feeling lost and confused, unable to tell truth from fiction. His shining manifests and compliments this aspect of his life, allowing him to always find his way back to where he needs to be no matter how lost and confused people try to make him. He can always trust that he knows where he is and where he's going and makes him feel confident and brave in himself.
Richie - Levity/Fun - he cares about not letting things get too dark, too dark, there should always be something to laugh about in a situation because whats life worth without the occasional laugh now and then. This manifests as his voices, and how it can influence people. It can influence how you feel and what you can see, directing attention to what's funny and what you maybe should be focusing on. It can distract and confuse when it's needs to.
Stanley - Belief - Stanley has always valued reality and what was and wasn't possible which is why he finds Pennywise so difficult to move on from. But his shining manifests to guide this need for a reason to believe. He has gut feelings, intuition about what to be certain about, though at first he finds this power to conflict with his personal belief that things should have evidence. Its when he begins to trust this gut feeling that he finds the courage to go back to Derry with Patty (which happened shush shut up I said so)
Ben - Kindness/Morality - Ben at his core believes in the right thing, no matter how much as a smart ass he could choose to be, no matter how much he could choose to mean to people after the way he was treated, no matter how scared he is of the life he's set to lose when Mike reveals the memory of the oath, he appeals for the others to listen, to do right by Mike, to do the right thing and to be kind. His core value manifests his shining to be his ability to build and create for others, dams to create fun for the losers, shelter to house people, weapons to fight Pennywise. Everything he builds is to benefit and help others. To create the thing that people need in their lives.
Beverly - Cunning/Daring - Beverly's core is the cunning to know what to say and do, to maneuver people and their expectations and know how to get to them. Having the daring to do what needs to be done. It was originally a core developed to protect herself and others from harm but when she dares to use it to pursue what she wants, she can get anything she sets her mind to. Her career, her freedom, like a well aimed shot in the dark. Her shining manifests as her ability to assess her aim, her target, her goal, knowing where to shoot to get results. When she uses this to fight and protect the people she cares about, she'll never miss.
Folks Outside in #itwelcometoderry
These main characters spend both their days and nights running from the evil entity that feeds on fear, and IT the clown. But it’s through communication and a joining of resources that they make it through. (Well, we’ll see tonight. The white supremacist just showed up 🙃)
For every person that avoids nature, because you understand Black history or because you’re constantly fed media that depicts bad outdoor experiences, just know that’s valid and @folks.outside sees your fear. But we’ll match it with whimsy and curiosity. 😗
Even in the presence of IT, the cosmic representation of evil, in an expansive and magically protected forest, the greatst threat to the Folks is being lynchd by white people. And honestly, that’s so real 😗
A year ago Ariel from Hazariel Atelier asked people to send in scales so she could make the Thierry Mugler Chimera dress. I immediately made some scales and sent them in:
And now the dress is done and it is Showstopping! I've seen the scales I made pop up once or twice and it's just the most wonderful community project. And so shiny!
The ghosts are so extra because why that particular one standing half way in the wall being extra creepy 😒
