Was rewatching the Kalos Crisis arc today and remembered Steven Stone's preferred method of activating his Key Stone is giving it a lil smooch 😘

the whole mega evolution 4 part special xy had is really underrated and not talked about enough as it should be. It provides backstory to how alain and mairin first met, what really happened to her Chespin, and it even had the primal Groudon vs primal Kyogre + Mega Rayquaza fight which was really cool to see!!

this is probably one of my favorite scenes to come out of it though. It’s so cute to see how much Alain went absolutely crazy that Mairin was going through so much pain. You can really see how much he cares for her and it’s just GUAGGHH MY HEART 💔💔 TO ME: they’re so sibling coded i love them so much <333 just a big brother wanting to protect his little sister !!

I spent waaaaay too much time putting together fits for Alan, Manon, and Bonnie in PLZA (to go with my AU which features them as the main characters). Of course I can't change the trainer's age, so just imagine Alan is 20 and Bonnie is 12 here. (Manon, of course, is 15, so it actually worked out well for her.)

A few notes:

I imagine Alan is perhaps pursuing his degree at this time, so he gets a university cardigan. I still had him in cargo pants and boots though; really going for a college student look.

I wanted Manon to keep her tomboyish style, but sans overalls so she could look more grown up. She wears mostly green because she's a grass specialist like Grandpa Ramos. (Also Hari-san is still a chespin because he wants to be, a la Pikachu.)

Bonnie likes to dress girlier, so I tried to keep that, but she's also becoming a Ranger so she has to have good shoes lol.

Lizardon is about to get a snackie :3

the bestie and i watched Pokemon XY: The Strongest Mega Evolution awhile back while i was deep in ultrakill hyperfixation. i noticed a weird amount of similarities between ultrakill's story and tsme. thanks @heartmai for encouraging me to post them :3

Lysandre - God/The Council

God:

God Ultrakill was a bitch. Lysandre was also a bitch!

Both of these characters performed virtuous acts for people lesser than them, and then proceeded to throw a fit when they asked for more/used what they had.

As stated above, both performed virtuous acts for people lesser than them, for God, Humans, for Lysandre, ..Literally just needy/suffering people?? lmao. 

For some reason, both of these characters got REALLY peeved when people started asking more of them, Lysandre directly saying “They took the help for granted and made nothing but demands” and God, saying “Mankind is a failure. Free will is a flaw. Let the evil of their own lips consume them. Then I shall begin again, with my word as law.” The new world with “the chosen ones”?? World full of people you deem easy to manipulate and follow you blindly??? Hmm????????? Furthermore, the God quote “...Damned is man for failing to follow my rule, my word, my law, damned to an eternity of torture and suffering…”  

Not to mention the fact that God/Lysandre both cast away Lucifer/Ash the moment they question the morality of their solution.

Also both of them are dead 🎉🎉🎉

The Council:

(another obligatory point that both of these characters are bitches)

Both The Council and Lysandre using a single person as a tool to deal with problems/guiltlessly do dirty work (Gabriel/Alain, more on that comparison later)

More in depth on the above points again!

The Council, being stand ins for God in his absence, holds complete control over Gabriel, sending him out to take care of V1, and when he fails, he is deemed unworthy, given one more chance to prove himself by actually getting rid of V1 this time, when he fails again, the council strips him of the holy light which gives him life and power.

Lysandre had total control over Alain, to the point of encouraging him to throw himself at rock-hungry gods that could easily Fucking Kill Him. When that doesn’t go as planned, here! Prove yourself by fighting a gauntlet of 10 people in a row and if you lose even once I’m taking away the thing that makes you as powerful as you are!! “If you get defeated just once, I’ll have you return the Mega Stone and Key Stone to me. I don’t need weaklings.”

Alain - Gabriel

Gabriel - His undying faith towards God, and those who replaced him lead to his inevitable demise, whether it be following all of God’s orders with no questions asked as “The Righteous Hand of the Father”, or the coercion of The Council. The moment he failed, The Council threatened to strip away the very thing giving him power and life. Eventually he threw it all away, slaughtering every member of The Council, taking control of himself again.

Alain - Looked up to Lysandre since they met, receiving his Mega stone and Key stone from him. To help with research When he wanted to get stronger, Lysandre held the punishment of losing his Mega/Key stone over his head. THEN he was doing it because he was making chespie better. After realizing hey this guys a shitter!! Assists in taking Lysandre down, dead, even! 

just look at these two! they even sit at campfires! theyre basically the same! Justice and Splendor are BASICALLY just Charizard too, if you really think about it for a second

Additional note on the Alain/Gabriel connection because I cannot not mention it - That joke I made above the pics actually has some merit considering J&S, Gabriel’s swords, are empowered by holy light, while Charizard is empowered with the Mega/Key stone, which was previously established as the holy light connection.

QUICK MISC COMPARISONS

Ash / Lucifer

Both of these characters were cast away by God/Lysandre, just because they disagreed and questioned one time

Zygarde / Minos Prime

Sees the punishment from God/Lysandre is fucked up in every way and tries to work against it and fix it

(The revenge against Gabriel still works because Alain helped capture Zygarde)

The Mega ORAS Legendaries / V1

Both of these mark important failures within Gabriel/Alain’s arcs. Immediately after these failures, God/Lysandre has Gabriel/Alain prove themselves once more, under threat of losing Holy Light/Mega and Key stone

Megalith in the Shape of Zygarde / 1000-THR “EARTHMOVER”

A little bit of a stretch but both are giant things created only for destruction that need to be destroyed from the inside. Both are intended to bring on New Eras, the Earthmover with the New Peace, and the Megalith with, y’know, Lysandre World™

im still not quite sure what i was on when i wrote these originally but like. the stories of both obviously havent changed enough to reevaluate, so it all still holds up! im still proud of this though, and i think its fun to share it thank u for reading my sillies!
