the end of 2x02 after Will was in the lab:

later the phone rings, no one picks up

but what if it was important? and the call was from the Lab to warn them?

that something in the Lab went wrong?

leading to another ‘episode’ in the distance when Will is at home bc they injected something in his arm? (the hand hints to injecting, the nurse doesn’t hold the syringe as if she was taking his blood for analysis)

so that after Will had a cozy evening with his family we end up in the surreal distant visual manipulation translated into his mind?

it probably wasn’t done on purpose this time bc if the Lab wanted to manipulate Will’s mind in distance before, they could’ve done it a million times (could his episodes be caused by it?); however, the scientist is shocked that the machine goes crazy, and that is shown right after the call to the Byers, and right before Will’s vision when he’s alone again and in the UD.

we have also the close up on the clock face (is it 01:05? 1x05?), and the word ‘united’ is important for some reason. Will’s realities were united (Hawkins and the UD)? Or what was?

Actually, based on the previous post sparking a thought, and the common desire we seem to have for seeing Steve recaptured by Russians, have we considered: Russians capture Steve AND Dustin? Because Dustin would be a very effective pressure point to get Steve to do what he's told. And if the Russians found out that Steve has fought demo-monsters before, has been into the tunnels before, he'd be the perfect candidate to be sent in again for research.

speaking of the gates and shit

this post and the comments made me wonder if I’ve started to forget things but…

how tf does El open a new gate for them to travel into the UD in 5x07 (or 8?), if the UD is another dimension? It’s not technically “under” Hawkins all the time. Hawkins was split in 4 parts (in 2 if we believe Max lol), some shit came out… kinda.

let’s take s1, Will was screaming through the wall, but when Joyce hit it, there was nothing. But the UD was somehow “there”, and not even “under” their house, but still kinda “there”. same goes even for s5! when Steve drives a car into a wall again chasing the demo. it’s not “under”. in s4 they go through the Eddie’s roof into the UD, and it’s “above”. I wouldn’t mind any directions, if we consider the UD existing as a dimension, even physical, okay, but a dimension. not just a subway

now, in the finale of s4 we see that crack, and the UD came out… how. from where. it’s never even been there in the first place.
