LARP: "In Darkness" from The Songs to Sirens Cycle (2/2)

It's always darkest before the dawn... And in the end, one Sun has set, but the other rose over the isle of Skall. All hail Freya and the brave Skellige men and women who fought to defend their faith, their customs and their freedom.

Character: Yorunn an Drummond. The Shieldmaiden. The She-Wolf.

I have been so, so reluctant to go to this larp... And in the and I would have been so angry with myself if I had talked myself out of going ;) It turned out to be difficult, especially mentally, but also it was something I never thought I would need to experience. I am incredibly grateful for what I've got out of this game.

Yorunn's journey will continue albeit different then whatever I was envisioning for her so far. And I love her for it.

The last piece of the dress combo for my Nilfgaardian Sorceress arrived. Still there is a bit of work. The black dress does not fit so awesomely well like the yellow one. It is very loose around the breast part.. But since the yellow one has a very Renaissance-like corsage I am confused that this dress should fit together. Renaissance-corsage makes the breast really flat and the black one obvisouly has a more round shape around this area.. Probably it would fit better with another dress under it. But nevertheless I probably will fix this. Also I will change the strings at the arms because they look like zipties 😅 still, I love the color combination here ❤️ I just love the black-white-yellow Color palette of Nilfgaard ☀️

Yorunn an Drummond part two - I’m so happy with the pictures I’ve got!

And so we have the first picture *_* - Yorunn doing what a guard should do - keeping order. There is a whole story that spawned from my apprehending of the Ofiri Merchant - and it  was glorious. For one, it wasn’t a merchant.

I did it - I gave in and bought myself another sword - the witcher sword I wanted from the very beginning. No, don’t send help, I’m fine... who wouldn’t be, having two swords? ^^

I did some minor tweaking on the hilt - rewrapped it in brown, plaited leather cord, because whatever was there before didn’t really feel like leather. It’s a little thicker now, closer in diameter to the hilt of my previous sword, but I think it fits my hand better now.

And it’s so pretty ;) Also there is a knife.

Can't wait to join a LARP again. Normally my first LARP of the year is around the corner and as the weather starts to get better, I really want to attend a LARP. But I still have to wait. I am pretty curious how April will be and if I can go to the @bogenwaldlarp at May. Really hope so. Meanwhile I work on my kit for May. Can't wait to show it to you!
