Colorado seems to be chalk full of abandoned mining towns. This one in particular requires an 11+ miles round trip hike (or an incredibly capable 4x4) to get to. The hike took us across a still frozen avalanche field, two beautiful lakes, aspen groves, and some killer mountain views. Lorraine sadly suffered three miscarriages, all in her first trimester, before Odumbe became a Community Health Promoter in her village. He gave her nutritional advice and sent her to a specialist. Now, she’s six months pregnant. Lorraine mentioned that if it was a boy, perhaps she'd name him Odumbe. At that, Odumbe laughed and casually replied, "That would be the third child named after me." .... Because of your support giving healthcare workers the skills and training to provide prenatal care, there are more excited and expectant parents in the world. And one village full of little "Odumbes."

As a little girl, Dufuroza dreamt of flying. But having to walk for water everyday, and getting sick because of how unclean it was, kept her out of school. It kept her away from so many opportunities. Now, the pipes walk for her.
