𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🍩 I’m sorry, but I have to be the guy that says “I knew about @doughbakehouse before it was famous”, BUT ITS TRUE, I did! My first visit was in May 2019 and I walked away thinking about their cherry & almond slice for a very long time. 6 months later and @carinalepore_ only goes and wins @apprenticeuk, doesn’t she. Carina, who carries the torch of the family business with her sister, who is SO down to earth and lovely btw, took home a large investment from Lord Alan Sugar and got the business the attention it deserves. Operating as a bakery and a cafe, your panini’s will be made with the bread they’ve baked for you. You’ve got to check out The Italiano, it’s super tasty with an amazing dressing inside. But the stars of the show on this visit are their new Dough Shakes. Honestly, they might be the nicest milkshakes I’ve had. They are FULL of flavour. There’s a difference between a strawberry flavoured milkshake and then the milkshake literally tasting like strawberries. Do you know what I mean? I hope that makes sense. Then we have the other which is like a chocolatey hazelnut ferrero rocher shake, which was my fave out of the two. The flavours are so deep without being too rich or sickening. They are topped with a doughnut, which itself is VERY underrated. Forget about paying £5 for crosstown, get yourselves a fresh box of these. They were so soft and spongey, and covered in other lil treats. You’ll find them in Herne Hill, which looks like a mission on paper if you’re north of the river, but it’s a 5-10 minute bus ride from brixton. They’re also about to launch a new location too! So keep your eyes peeled for that.
