On Manuals Monday, we shared the architectural graphics proposal done by Vignelli Associates for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. But Vignelli Associates had a hand in the Museum’s auditorium too. 

The Museum’s architect, Frank Gehry chose Poltrona Frau’s Pitagora seating, designed by Lella Vignelli for the auditorium. The idea was to create a clean continuous line without the visual scalloping of regular seating. 

In the archives you can find examples of the extensive design research, conducted in part by long time design collaborator David Law, from concept through the entire design process to the final installation.
