👻 Anika Fuhe, the Corrupted Descendant 👻

Well hello there!! I'm back from vacations - still on summer break, but with 100% hype for coming back to work!

While I finish up the last illustrated prize for the Aqua Art Challenge (finally!), I'm going to reorganize some of the best results of these past months' master class at Genius Academy.

It was an absolute pleasure to give Anika a retouch, as it was to work on a new full character design project!!

Absolutely expect more of these in the future, I already have a pretty list of names~ The classes will resume soon and activity will drop again for a bit, but boy! I'm excited!

👻 Living Vessel

Too many of those monsters ambushed us at the same time - way too many. They overwhelmed us, and both Kairon and I risked to end our run there...

Luckily, I am never alone, and I am not going to die so easily on his watch.

Right after the character design, my final illustration for the master class also featured Anika in a very specific condition and scene from the original campaign I've been playing her in, the World of Eras! Early times followers may recognize her as the model for my first DTIYS challenge. She's come far, hasn't she?~

While one may still find many flaws around the piece, if someone told me I made this a few months ago I wouldn't have believed it. I'm so so proud of my improvement!! And I promise, this is still just the beginning~

Congratulations to @djaxaran for winning the fist prize of the DTIYS challenge!

And what a challenge it was for me too! I'm trying hard to correct my tendency to use too many blacks in my works. Plus, I just called for troubles when I put that much water around the picture.

But hey! I'm not going to sit on my lazy bum and make my life simpler if it means less improvement! This is still so much more than I could do a while ago, and I don't plan to stop learning anytime soon!

The Duke and the Star

I had so much fun working on this. It was inspired by the same music I put in the background of the speedpaint. I must admit it though, I hadn’t drawn Mettaton for so long that I had to go back through the files of my computer and search for my own photos of the cosplay I made as a reference. I couldn’t decide how to fix several detailsss

Still, I still love him above most of the characters in Undertale, and I love Roulxs above most of the characters in Deltarune. I’m still pretty salty about the fact that UT characters look like they’ve been put there to call the old fandom back for now and I really hope they’re going to get more involved in the full game if it ever makes it to us, but I can’t deny I loved the experience. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Secrets of the sea floor

After almost two months since I started this illustration... finally! Here it is. I got past two exams and a revision in less than a week, basically taking no breaks after the classes were over, and it’s been an immense joy to get back to work once I was done. I feel like this one signs a… change, an improvement of my style and approach to drawing, because (if you were able to catch the glimpse of my handwriting at the beginning of the video) this was a challenge that I never dared to face before. I’ve never been great at backgrounds, so I’ve been studying those more than before, and composition too, and colors! Oooh, colors! I hope you like it. You can say this is a remake of the “Underwater Sunset” I made two years ago, more or less. The characters are always the same and are evolving with time, I’m liking them more than before every time I sketch them. I wonder if they’re going to have names and backstories soon? But there’s something I can tell for sure – the next speedpaint will surely differ from this one, in a way or another, so stay tuned!

The Night, she calls me

Whoever’s close to me knows how obsessed I’ve become with these two characters and their series of animations. They’re Missi and Duke from The Night (Fan Animated), the first of the two currently available videos on Youtube by Daria Cohen. It was a fun drawing to work on, and it also brought me to think about my works a bit. 

If you look at the most part of my previous drawings... well, they’re mostly set during the night, and there’s always a lot of blue everywhere. Now, I don’t think I’m ever going to get rid of the blue hues, I just love them. But about the settings and all? Some people I’ve talked to about this say it’s just my style, but I don’t want to make myself too ripetitive! So yeah, I’m planning to start something different in the future, maybe a series of drawings that will prove to be a real challenge in this sense - you’ll find out why. For now, just know that it’ll feature the biggest variety of backgrounds you can think of!
