I noticed there aren't any examples of canon autistic characters in books, so I thought I'd mention that Denise from On the Edge of Gone by Corinne Duyvis is canonically and explicitly autistic.

Here’s a link to buy this book on amazon, with a plot summary. The plot summary also says that her mother is addicted to drugs. Seems to be like a dystopia/apocolyspe book.
