Love. A subject that Edward Elric was known not to have much knowledge for.

Throughout all of his life, the blonde male didn't exactly pay attention to all things that had to do with love, other than a bond between close family members like a mom to their son and a father to their daughter. The other definition of love -- which is a bond between two people, specifically a couple -- was the area that he was terrible at.

When he was a teenager, he was so immersed in completing his journey and getting his body that he really didn't experience what all typical teenaged boys were supposed to. He did not go on dates, flirt with girls, or even had a girlfriend -- the only thing in his mind was to focus in getting their bodies back.

However, there was one girl in particular that did pull on his heart strings for the longest time. That certain girl made Edward think about long, blonde-hair and wide sky blue eyes that express the emotions she wanted to give to people.

"Winry Rockbell," He breathed out with a gentle sigh of nostalgia. His mechanic, his childhood friend, and his first, real first love. He always had some connection towards her and hell, he had this need to protect her because she was someone important to him, next to Alphonse. She was somewhat his voice of reason and also, the one who gave him a chance to have both his limbs again -- temporarily, of course.

It was a relationship that could've been and hadn't been -- Edward wanted to push it further as did the automail mechanic but when his situation went dire, Edward knew -- Winry didn't deserve a man like him. He had done too many horrible things to name that this girl -- that gave people a push to have a second chance -- should not be with him.

With that, Edward had to let it go and could only think of her as a close friend.
