Alright, time for another short emergent story post (Yes every detail actually happened), This little guy resting next to Vampirella, we’ll just call him Nibbles
Vampi peeks out from an alley near the edge of Boston. A Diner across the street looks empty, until something quick catches her eye. A small rad-rat comes dashing out of the front doorway, headed right towards her. It’s nothing to be scared of, she knows rad-rats are docile, and even finds them kind of cute. Suddenly - an explosion rocks the diner, smoke and sparks blowing out of the century-gone windows.
To her surprise, the small rat stops beside her, safe from the explosion, and oddly enough he turns around to look back at the scene of destruction. It was as if the little guy knew he was safe beside her. Not knowing how to proceed, Vampi waits patiently at the alleyway’s mouth, waiting for any followup signs of combat or danger. However, the diner seems to be quiet now. Quickly, Nibbles darts back to the front door, stops, turns around, and runs back up to Vampi - is he telling her to investigate?
Vampirella stands and begins to walk across the street, her Webley-Fosbery aimed and ready for any candid interactions with raiders or scavvers. Nibbles, restless, scitters between her feet and runs into the Diner. The small rat awakens something behind the counter - a lightly-armored but heavily disgruntled raider stands up, letting out a clip’s worth of shots at the ground, while shouting angrily. Nibbles dodges the gunfire by weaving deftly through the table and chair legs. Pat-Pat-Pat! - the raider falls backward, his quilted utility suit bursting at the chest. There’s a loud banging as he collapses against the fridge, and slides down onto the multicolored tiled floor. Vampi, a little surprised Nibbles had conjured such rage from anything, steps into the doorway, and leans against the plasteel threshold. Chems seemed to be the only explanation she could ascertain for the raider’s behavior. Nibbles hops about, and continues to linger at the crime scene, as if going about his prior business. “Little guy,” Vampirella says, with a smile on her face. “You’re awfully lucky.”
