Taking you back to July 18, 1998. "Landslide" a single released from "The Dance" entered the Billboard Hot 100 in the US at No.59. The song peaked 4 weeks later at No.51 but remained in bottom half of the Top 100 for a remarkable 20 weeks dropping off the chart in November. Back in 1997, Fleetwood Mac reunited to do a TV concert marking 20 years of their 40,000,000-selling Rumours album. Then they released the concert as an album, The Dance, and THEN proceeded to go on tour. I covered the tour for my magazine back then and still have the backstage pass. A year or two back, The Dance was finally released on vinyl, so I picked it up and while the music is as great as ever (Lindsay Buckingham just rules throughout the album), the pressing is awful, with bad sibilance on nearly every Christine McVie song for some reason. Oh well.

The Dance part 5 (Finale)

[Taiyang paces around the empty dorm room trying his best to sort his thoughts when he notices Ravens mask laying on her bed. He holds it in front of his face and looks in the mirror]

Taiyang: “I’m Raven, I’m sooo serious all the time. Grr. Fun? Fun is for the weak.”

Taiyang: “No I can’t go to the dance with you because I’m too busy grimacing at the sunset! Blah! blah! strength! blah!”

[Tai goes to throw the mask but stops himself, setting it down gently where he found it. He closes his eyes and rubs his temples, freezing when he notices Ravens hand on his shoulder]

Raven: ..........

Taiyang: .......... <slight panic>

Raven: “I’m Taiyang, an I’m just a solid gold statue of sex appeal. I don’t have to think anything through because my team will save my ass. Oh here’s another pun because I don’t have anything useful to say”

[staying behind him Raven tightly grips his shirt]

Raven: “I’m stupid and loud and childish and...and..too nice. Too willing to see the best in everyone ...even if it isn’t there.”

[Raven rests her head against his back]

Raven: .........................I’m sorry Tai

[ Taiyang turns to face her]

Taiyang: Raven....do I really sound like that?

[they both share a small laugh as Ravens hand finds its way into Taiyangs.]
