Nasce "TheFacebook" nel 2004. Mark Zuckerberg, insieme ad alcuni suoi compagni di università, lancia la piattaforma all'inizio ad uso universitario, ma poi sappiamo come è andata a finire. Circa il 38% della popolazione mondiale, oltre 3 miliardi di persone, hanno un profilo Facebook o più di uno. Dire che ha rivoluzionato il modo di comunicare in rete è estremamente riduttivo. Oggi ci chiediamo quanto sia stato deleterio questo strumento, nato con tutte le buone intenzioni, ma del quale l'abuso e sovente, l'utilizzo improrpio ne hanno snaturato gli intenti. L'energia atomica è di per se una cosa utilissima e dalle applicazioni anche decisive per il futuro dell'umanità. Se la usi per massacrare migliaia di persone in un colpo solo, però, diventa un'altra cosa. Similitudine azzardata? Può darsi. Ma c'è modo e modo di sopprimere la gente. Ucciderne l'inteletto in una sorta di leucotomia di massa, è comunque un danno permanente alla società, la cui stupidità di una buona parte di essa prima era confinata tra le quattro mura di casa o al limite al bar, adesso invece viene fieramente messa in vetrina o se preferite, in bacheca. Ci vuole anche una buona dose di predisposizione, certo. Ma la storia ha dimostrato che l'imbeccillità è sempre stata insita nel nostro DNA, con evidenze più o meno palesi e conseguenze più o meno gravi. Di questo passo però, una cosa è certa, l'estinzione è dietro l'angolo.  E tutto sommato potrebbe alla fine, non essere questo gran danno.
