“This was so not what I expected when Barry said trans-dimensional travel was a piece of cake.” The mutter left her lips as Kara pushed herself into a sitting position. Great, she had made a crater, somehow. J’onn was not going to like that. Sighing, the blonde began to float out of the earth that surrounded her. At least she was disguised in her costume this time. 

Red boots hit the ground, just as a blur formed in front of her. “B-Barry? Aw man! I didn’t do it right did I? If I’m not back soon, Alex is going to call Clark and then I’m going to be in so much trouble...”

He’d grabbed the box during his escape from the court of owls for no reason other than that it caught his eye.  At the time, he’d had no chance to look carefully at it, but he took it with him anyway, planning to examine it later.

It wasn’t until he returned to his house that Oswald opened the box, and picked up the glowing blue stone that was inside.  He was right then, the box was interesting.  He turned the stone over in his hand, examining it, trying to figure out exactly what it was.  Obviously it was no ordinary stone.

“I would definitely bring those things up with her though, you know, communication is important. For being the Flash… I can’t tell you how I’m going to manage it, I mean- Iris has always told me that I’m still Barry, even without the suit, but I love this part of me. Still, I don’t think that would get in the way of your family too much, it’s just like any other job that requires a couple more hours than average. 

“And for the Kara thing… maybe introduce her as a godmother. And when your kid is older and can understand better, you can explain that. There’s no harm in that. 

“Trust me, I understand the whole talking thing though. You and me are close to the same mind, even if we’re different people. I’ll always be here to help out with your problems, man.”

They were sitting across from one another, her knees in between his--their hands between them. “I tried..He’s..” She shook her head, her blonde waves flowing with the movement. “He’s like nothing I know how to fight. My strength..it didn’t matter. I’m sorry..”
