Sherlock: The Hound of Baskerville

In the beginning of the episode "The Hound of Baskerville" when Sherlock is begging John for cigarettes, and he calls Mrs. Hudson up, John signals to Mrs. Hudson that she make him some tea, which she proceeds to ask Sherlock if he'd like a cup. Sherlock then states that he needs something stronger than tea and continues, "Perhaps 7% stronger." He then goes on to deduce that Mrs. Hudson has been down at the bakery flirting with a man that works there. An epiphany came to me as I watched this scene. In the special, Sherlock has OD'd on a list of drugs, but right before John and Mary find out, he tries to deduce about Mycroft. I love little moments that Moffat puts in like this where you don't even think about it until later episodes and then come back to watch it again. Making a reference to "The Sign of Four" and "The Abominable Bride", "The Hounds of Baskerville" very early on shows that Sherlock still struggles with his drug problem, something that we the audience wouldn't know much of until later. He refers to the 7% solution of cocaine that he takes in "The Sign of Four" and "The Abominable Bride", and he deduces Mrs. Hudson to keep himself occupied from thinking about the drug, much as he does Mycroft in "The Abominable Bride". These are the moments that I love in this shows because no small moment or comment is looked over and everything ties together in some way.

The Hound of Baskerville.

Jelikož jsem si již kdysi dávno půjčila od babičky s dědou knížku Pes Barskervilský, tak nějak jsem tušila, že bychom ji možná mohli mít stále doma v knihovně. Popravdě jsem se k ní nikdy nedostala, nikdy jsem tuto knihu nezačala číst. Ale vše je někdy poprvé, že ano...

Včera odpoledne jsem se rozhodla, že začnu s chvalně proslulým seriálem s názvem Sherlock. Moc jsem si od toho neslibovala, ale proč to nezkusit, že ano? Tedy jsem začala a... už se mi nechce skončit.

Každá série tohoto skvostného seriálu má bohužel pouhé tři díly. Ano, jsou dlouhé jako blázen (90 minut), ale to mé dušičce stejně nestačí. Vždyť je to Sherlock Holmes, společně s Watsonem, Mycroftem a Moriartym! Nicméně se přihodilo, že jsem to dokoukala v pouhých dvou dnech.

Zhruba tři až čtyři dny zpět jsem se začínala zajímat o práva. Tajně, nechtěla jsem to zase zakřiknout. Že by byla právnická fakulta něco pro mě? Bůh ví. Jenže díky Sherlockovi mám snad ještě větší chuť se do toho ponořit. A to se zaměřením na trestní právo.

Abych se ale dostala k věci. MILUJI BBC, miluji i Moffata a po všech těchto myšlenkách a nápadech jsem prohrabala knihovnu a našla Psa Baskervilského. Tudíž... hurá, jde se číst!
