Sora, in Kingdom Hearts was probably the first person fight real Sephiroth - or possibly just a facimile of Sephiroth conjured from Cloutd’s insecurities - he does use Supernova as his limit there. It involves him dropping a bunch of spinning, exploding meteorites on your face.

Riiiiight? Which has nothing to do with either version used by Safer Sephiroth! Also people can have multiple Limits, though you have to do a lot of fighting and Limit Breaking to unlock them all.

And because we don’t know how real that Sephiroth is or when in his timeline he’d come from if he was real–seriously the FFVII characters cannot all be from the same point in their timeline what’s even with that?–that version is less applicable than I’d like. We’ve got all these AU Sephiroths but when it comes to Canon Officially Alive Sephiroth On His Home Planet Without Amnesia we’ve got like.

Kill Ifrit with sword, thanks for confusing the issue of whether Summons are attackable bro. Kill bunch of Genesis copies with sword and fascinating close-range use of magic???? The spar on the Junon simulation, which was sword-only from his side. And then the Zack fight in the reactor, which was weird.

You can put together a lot from that! But there are some weird holes.

Sorry, you're having a shit day, but I've been working my way through some of your stuff and you are a heck of a writer. I mean, wow. I was wondering if you have ever written anything from Tim's perspective? He's obviously one of your favs and you right him very well, but I don't think I've ever seen anything from his POV? Am I missing out? Or is it a too close to the source deal?

haha yeah Tim is hard for me, i almost never finish stuff from his pov. partly because i overidentify and partly because his canon is so complicated and i know i don’t have the names of all his friends etc straight.

it’s not as major a too-close block as with barbara, but i always tend to feel that my tim stuff is either lacking in feeling or [or oversentimental and dumb, look at me not finishing my sentences lol].

i have published two fics from his pov dealing with the Titans Tomorrow universe. one’s a dream sequence dealing with his older self and the other is my logical extrapolation from canon that if they weren’t killed, as of the 52 event Duela Dent (who was projected to be Tim’s Joker in Tomorrow) was from a mirror universe and had brought her boyfriend. ex-talon Tim Drake. to the main universe. so Tomorrow Joker was now dating alternate-universe Batman. logically.

Also, the No Man’s Land novel states that she’s no older than sixteen, and that took place the year before Batgirl Vol 1 1 (with Cass’ birthday on January 26th in between). By Batgirl Vol 1 48 she’s eighteen. Keep in mind that comics time flows differently from RL publishing time.

So in your 7200 word dissection did you figure this out: Is there sound in space in TAG?

Oh, you are an unkind person, that is a very good question.

Because no, of course not. Of course there’s no sound in space in TAG, for all their fudging and faking and pseudoscience, this is just physics (couldn’t be simpler). There’s no sound in space.

But there’s sound in the episode. Good sounds, excellent sounds. I’m really curious where they get all their sound effects, because they are good and super satisfying. Very real and mechanical. Obviously sound being depicted in space is a narrative concept, it adds texture to the music and the dialogue and more to the point, we expect to hear the sounds of things moving. So I guess for this purpose, the sounds are a narrative construct that exist in the mind of the viewer. Very tree falling in the forest.

NOW. I think soundlessness in space is used to great effect in other media, and potentially could have been used to that same effect here, but this is a kid’s show and that might be a little above the average child’s mental paygrade. However, considering the use of sound from a narrative standpoint, there’s a close analogue to hearing sound in the form of feeling movement and vibration. 

If you don’t imagine these sounds being heard but felt, then there’s something to be said for the way they’re used. When you think about the way TB5 must resonate with the mechanical movements of every system aboard, then those sounds serve a very immediate purpose, and give you a sense of John feeling what that sounded like.

That’s kinda cool.
