Day 1 of MattFoggy Week for the @themattfogblog! And a fic mostly focusing on Foggy, with some later friendship with Matt. An AU, in which Foggy is Quartermaster onboard a pirate ship, with Matt being the mythical creature in the ocean they're set to capture!

Matt and Foggy go to a ceili for St. Patrick’s Day.

“Do you know this dance?” Foggy asked.

“Can’t say I know the steps,” Matt said. “I always liked it though.”

Matt never got in touch with his Irish roots beyond being sad and angry and having drinks with friends, and, of course, celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day. This year, Foggy had taken him to a ceili instead of the usual bar, both of them wearing green and shamrocks, plus Matt switching his usual red glasses out for green ones. Matt didn’t dance, but most of these dances involved having a partner to hold hands with, so in theory, Matt wouldn’t have a hard time. Besides, he got to hold Foggy’s hand and dance with him.

“When you talked about Nelson and Murdock on the dance floor, I didn’t think you meant this,” Matt said as Foggy guided him to the end of the large wooden stage where people were gathering.

“Neither did I,” Foggy laughed. “Okay, take my hand like this…”

An upbeat reel began to play.

“Okay, we go forward,” Foggy said, “Then back, then forward, then back, cross to your left to switch with her…”

Matt followed along no problem, though he and Foggy were both awkwardly moving their feet and not doing the polished hops and steps of the more experienced dancers.

“Now I come here… take my hand again, and we’ll end up one place farther down the line.”

The dance was in a predictable pattern, and Matt had a big smile on his face the entire time. Foggy would occasionally glance over at him and that only made Matt smile more. The upbeat, fast music and Foggy guiding him and holding his hand made him happier than he’d ever been, and he would definitely go dancing with Foggy more often.

They did several more dances and took breaks in between to eat and drink and rest their aching feet, then they’d get up for another dance whether their feet still hurt or not. By the time they left, the walk home was even more agonizing, but as long as they were holding hands and laughing and chatting, it didn’t matter. They would still dance down the sidewalk, buzzed and laughing.

Matt invited Foggy into his apartment and they stumbled to Matt’s bed. They climbed in, not caring that they were a tangled mess of limbs giggling and kissing each other. Foggy nuzzled and kissed Matt’s neck, making him laugh, and Matt kept kissing Foggy’s face in various places.

“Happy Saint Patrick’s Day,” Foggy said.

“You too,” Matt said. “Do we wanna sleep?”

“I dunno,” Foggy said. “I definitely wanna cuddle, though.”

Matt almost forgot about his green glasses until Foggy took them off and put them on the nightstand.

“You’re so adorable without your glasses on,” Foggy said. “You’re so cute, look at you, look how cute you are.”

“Thanks, I wouldn’t know,” Matt laughed.

He kissed Foggy full on the lips this time.

“I wanna dance with you more often,” he said. “I just realized I didn’t drink that much, I’m just legitimately so happy right now.”

“Yeah, I’m just a little buzzed too,” Foggy said. “I wanna dance with you more too. If only my feet weren’t killing me.”

“There will be more ceilis,” Matt said.

Here we go! Another day of @themattfogblog Matt/Fog Week, another fic, another rare pair (there were whole three fics in the tag already - one more than yesterday), and it's the only inside-Marvel crossover in this series, but boy did I have fun with it!
