Summary:
Remus Lupin x Reader
During Potions class, Remus is struggling. Professor Slughorn assigns you to tutor Remus and you quickly hit it off studying together .
✨
“Oh for Christ’s sake!” You hear the student on your right sigh.
You look over at their work and realize they completely forgot to add rat’s tail to their potion. Remus Lupin looks up at you and you quickly divert your gaze, not wanting to seem rude.
“How’d you get yours so perfect?” He asked, now standing up and making his way towards your station.
“I don’t know. I kinda just followed the instructions.” He peered into your caldron and sighed again. “I couldn’t help but notice, I think you forgot to add your rat’s tail.”
He whipped his head back to his caldron and saw the rat’s tail sitting next to it, forgotten. “Oh shit. God I’m so shit at this.”
Professor Slughorn was making his rounds around the classroom and nodded with approval at your bubbling caldron that was now turning silver. Remus’ was hissing and bubbling, but not in a good way. His brew was starting to turn into a nasty looking green. He helplessly looked at Slughorn, grimacing a smile.
The Professor shook his head and sighed. “Y/N can you please stay after class with Lupin and show him how to properly brew the Speed Potion?”
“Yeah sure.” You cheered internally though. You had always thought Remus was attractive, in a disheveled type of way. He was your class crush and the thought of staying after class in an empty classroom with him was making your pulse race.
As the rest of the class began to pack up and file out of the room, you helped Remus gather all the necessary components. “The key to this potion is a scalding hot caldron. Start heating up the caldron while we gather the supplies.” You said, taking a vile of cinnamon out of the cabinet.
He nodded dutifully, lighting a small fire under the caldron. He carefully went through the ingredients list, making sure he didn’t miss a single thing. As you put all the ingredients into a pile, your fingers brushed. The tension immediately increased tenfold. You couldn’t tell if you were just being delusional or if you thought he was being intentional.
While brewing the potion you guys chatted, you realized you had more in common than you thought. You had the same favorite bands and books. Long after his potion had turned a beautiful silver the conversation kept going. You both put all the ingredients away and he walked you back to your entrance.
“Y/N, can I ask you out on a date?”
You grinned. “I thought you’d never ask me Remus.”
