Summary: “What’s carrying a bag of flour around all day for a term supposed to teach us about parenting, I ask you?”

The one where the Marauders have to take care of flour babies - or at least, not completely destroy them. James is trying to impress Lily, Sirius has a problem with his backside, and Remus is, as always, trying not to flunk. 

And he's dreadfully in love with his best friend.

Comments: This was hilarious, I laughed out loud so many times. It has the right amount of absurdity mixed in with a good dose of pining, all wrapped up in snappy writing. I can’t wait to read the rest of this author’s works!

#fallficaday - Day 21

Author: toyhto Rating: Mature Word Count: 25,931 Type: Non-magic!AU

Summary: A story in which Remus Lupin meets a dark handsome stranger and they go for a road trip to rescue one little brother who’s probably into something very bad.

Comments: There’s something about this fic, I don’t know if it’s the on-point dialogue or the characterizations or the road trip drama, but it’s so gripping. I seriously loved these characters and their awkward, roundabout ways of doing things and expressing emotions. I’m kind of mad I didn’t read this sooner, it was fantastic.

#febficaday - Day 12

Author:  ladymemebeth Rating: Mature Word Count: 20,017 Era: MWPP

Summary: an AU story in which sirius decides to go to remus' house when he runs away, rather than james'. remus finds this situation to be trying in more ways than one. includes gratuitous references to twentieth-century cinema and music.

Comments: Wow, this is such a gem of a fic. Beautifully written, with that very languid atmosphere that fits so well with summer fics. I absolutely love Remus; his characterization was so spot-on. He wants and worries, thinks too much and doesn’t recognize how incredible he is as a person. I also like seeing the vulnerable, fragile side of Sirius, especially after having run away. I think I’ll be rereading this one again very soon; I can’t wait to savor the gorgeous writing and slow burn relationship again!
