THE CHALLENGE LIVES!
After the sucker punch of 2017, we are back, angrier than ever and with a brand new reading challenge.
For those of you who don’t know us yet, yes, we are a reading challenge! But not any reading challenge, we cater to the queer feminists of the world, we want you to learn and rule. So, pick a book, tag your choice with "dragoonthechallenge" and join us every month!
HERE ARE THIS YEAR’S THEMES:
January | GET POSITIVE It's time to challenge an idea, concept or long held belief. Be that your body image, mental illness or even death. Get on your feet and make it happen. February | CBs By Women Need we say more? February is a quick month for fast, but still complex, reads. Let’s give the women changing the landscape of the comic industry some love. March | Defiant Women For much of history anonymous was a woman. No more, let’s learn about some badass fucking women who changed the fucking world. April | POC as The Lead Choose any genre, any setting, but we better not see a white person as the lead, for fuck’s sake. May | By a Woman As long as you choose a book written by woman, it’s fair game. June | Here & Queer It’s LGBTQ+ History Month, we are queer and still here. Let’s learn about queer history or read some queer stories. Your choice. July | By a Woman of Color As long as you choose a book written by a woman of color, it’s fair game. August | YA Girls Everyone enjoys some young adult books every now and then, right? Choose one about a girl! September | The Future is Accessible Let’s give the people with disabilities within our communities the spotlight, read something written by them or about them. Learn about different ways of living and enrich your own life. October | Queer & Spooky That’s right, let’s read about some spooky gay shit. Queer paranormal romance is all the rage. November | She’s No Man It’s a men’s world, let’s read about some women fucking shit up where they don’t expect a woman to be. Any genre is cool with us. December | They’re lesbians, Harold QUEER WOMEN QUEER WOMEN QUEER WOMEN
Just like in previous years, we will have a masterpost with book recs and lists to guide you through the month’s theme. You can check for it on the 10th of every month on the dot. But if you already have your own idea, that’s absolutely fine and even encouraged.
The challenge is open for anyone who feels like joining at any point of the year. We don’t have any rules or demands, but if you feel like sharing what you’re going to be reading, tag us! That’s what we live for, my dudes. Here’s to a year of reading! :D
