Ok but Will who was non-verbal for the first like 6 or so years of his life and he still sometimes goes non-verbal during stressful situations.

He makes hand gestures and noises that only Mike can understand when he is like this.

The party has learned to keep calm when he gets like this and get him a pen and paper so he can either write what he wants to say out, or if he can’t put it into words, draw it. They have a lot of fun trying to decode these drawings, bc half the time they make no sense. But it cheers will up when they make outlandish guesses, and makes him laugh a lot so he feels better.
