The thing about child sidekicks is... They literally all have to be feral on some level. If they aren't They Will Die.

But there are different flavors of feral, and probably a scale in there as well.

On one hand, you've got Garth (aqualad) who was, if I remember correctly, just a scavenger living at the bottom of the ocean who got picked up by the king of Atlantis as if he were some kind of pet.

And then on the other, you've got Robin, who came knowing how to interact with society and be perfectly polite, but who also regularly taunts and beats up people he should Not be able to taunt or beat up.

Anyways, there are a million and one other examples that I don't have time to explore, but, in essence, each and every sidekick can and will fight God behind the seven eleven with nothing but a stick in order to buy a pack of Skittles.
