Pairing: Oikawa/Kageyama/Volleyball
Theme: lucky volleyball
Oikawa Tooru's skill came from hard work and talent, but even he had a lucky item. And naturally, it was a volleyball.
It had just come to him one fateful day in middle school. Oikawa could remember the day he picked it up in a cart of balls, wanting to hit a few serves before practice started. He felt it the moment his fingers touched it; a jolt went through him and felt right in his palm, the weight soothing and material smooth. He hit his best serve and the entire practice went perfectly; as long as it was that ball that he used, Oikawa was even better than usual.
It was a bit discolored from years of use, but Oikawa didn't mind. It gave it a sense of hominess and made it easy to recognize, so when he arrived at practice a few weeks later, he could immediately see Kageyama holding it.
The entire world slowed; Oikawa's eyes widened as he watched the ball--his lucky ball--be thrown up, almost physically wincing to watch Kageyama serve.
He almost gave a pained whine to watch his precious volleyball skim the top of the net, just barely making it over.
"Tobio-chan, no, stop it!!!"
Looking alarmed, Kageyama looked up after retrieving the ball, watching Oikawa being dragged away forcefully by Iwaizumi, glaring at him and snapping 'stop being so overdramatic, moron!'
"...Huh?" he asked, looking confused before his eyes brightened. "Oikawa-san, could you teach me how to serve?"
"TOBIO-CHAN... WHY DO YOU HURT ME SO?"
