One of the first people Astoria wanted to see after switching back was Theo. It had been nice and needed getting to talk with him, to fall back into their old dynamic. They always had worked well together. It helped seeing that hadn’t changed. She felt lighter knowing he didn’t hate her. It was a weight lifted. They could rebuild trust. She wasn’t going to break that this time. It didn’t matter if they had to start over. This was as good a place to start as any. The present was picked up off her dresser and she headed over to his room. She promised they would spend a day together doing whatever he wanted to make up for his birthday. She had meant that. Knocking on his door, she called out his name quietly. @theoxxnott

“I like to not dwell on what others think of me too often—but, I suppose, since that’s the whole point of the question…” Hermione took a long pause, before admitting to herself something she already knew. “Yes. I believe so. People don’t rightfully admit it, but they think my acclimation and my dedication is strange, I believe.”

fred: have you ever played a prank on someone?

“No! Of course not. Never would I want to pull something so childish as a trick on somebody else. I will admit, I’ve been the onlooker of more than a few dastardly and foolish pranks myself, but never could I be so cruel.”

harry: do you consider yourself brave?

Tracey’s lips pursed a little. “Not especially. I don’t run at the first sign of trouble, but I do fade into the background well enough as a survival tactic. I value loyalty above bravery, because that implies a certain amount of thought behind it.”

ron: are you scared of spiders?

Shaking her head, Tracey grinned. “Not really, no. Acromantulas aren’t something I’d want to mess with, but an ordinary spider is just something I pick up and put outside if I find one where it shouldn’t be.”

It’s officially the norm for today, Jesse’s regret is piled higher than that stack of pancakes Julian and himself made on Christmas Day a few years ago. Familiar faces have been parading around the house, yet have also insisted they’re someone else entirely. Only a matter of time now, before fingers start getting pointed all over the place and the truth comes spilling out. All of these miscellaneous thoughts brought him outside then quite literally up a tree. As he resigned himself to the potential this potion mishap might be permanent, footsteps caught his attention. “Who is it?” Jesse called down, still shocked at how his voice was Cassian’s now.

Astoria had been shy about singing in front of people before Theo. She had been shy about a lot of things before Theo. It was only a matter of time before she was able to gain her own confidence. She didn’t feel the need to hide any part of herself now. Singing along to a favorite song had become the norm, and no longer came with a bright blush when she noticed someone listening. It was humming along at first as she cut up fruit for herself, but it soon became singing. “I had all and then most of you, some and now none of you,” was sang softly along with the radio. It was at that point she noticed Theo. “Take me back to the night we met. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, haunted by the ghost of you,” she continued singing, holding out her hands, silently asking him to dance with her like they used to. “Oh, take me back to the night we met.” (x)
