1.) I recently switched psychiatrists. Luck would have it that my previous psychiatrist moved to a different district and replaced my most recent doctor. The thing is that I am afraid (as I was with my recent doctor) that she will not believe me and take off my wellbutrin. I mentioned to her that while I'm feeling much better in terms of depression, I still have a lot of trouble concentrating and even my boyfriend notices it. I often forget what I'm saying mid conversation, deadlines, etc.
2.) I struggle with my homework because I continuously miss simple parts of the assignments or mix up due dates. It frustrates me, and I’m very worried that my doctor won’t change my meds to something more effective. My boyfriend told me that it sounds a little like my anxiety talking and I know he’s right to some degree. I’m so used to people discounting my mental illnesses that it scares me. Especially with my ADD a lot of the friends I’ve told made me feel like they think I’m exaggerating
I think that even if this is your anxiety, it’s also a reasonable concern to have. Since you have a previous relationship with your psychiatrist, you should be able to talk to her about all of this, including your concern that she won’t take you seriously.
It’s possible that she won’t want to take you off the Wellbutrin but will be okay with prescribing something else to take as well. Many people take Wellbutrin along with a stimulant like Ritalin or Adderall because the Wellbutrin helps with their depression but doesn’t touch their ADHD.
Remember that your psychiatrist’s job is actually to take your mental illnesses seriously, and so she should be willing to listen to you and take your concerns into account when making decisions about your medication. That’s good practice.

thepetitemuse replied to your post:asking for money is really rude
getting a job is rude, getting a paycheck is rude, living in a house is rude, eating is rude, breathing is rude. You know what Just lie very still and hold your breath and don’t blink. That should fix the problem right anon? Lol ridiculous.
I'm just a machine. Whoops, soz. I forgot. Silly me. I'm a bit of a shit machine then. It's fine.
I just want to say that your feature points posts don't bother me. It makes perfect sense why you have invested in the app and if it's that much of a chore skimming past it on their dash, people can use xkit, tumblr savior, or just get over it.
thank you so much for your support! it means a lot that you understand why I do it !!! you just gained a follower hehe :) :) <3

It usually calms down overnight but if it doesn't, I'll give that a try!
(1) Recently started seeing a psychiatrist again because our insurance finally kicked in. Getting proper treatment was a mess up until this month. Anyway so this doctor is 100% new with me and has kind of insinuated that my Inattention isn't because of ADHD. I didn't push the issue because I only had a set amount of time with him and because I know a lot of doctors are suspicious of people trying to abuse ADHD medication. He says that he thinks a lot of my symptoms will go away when I am...
(2) efficiently medicated for my depression and anxiety. I agree with this, but I also know that I’ve struggled coming to terms with my diagnosis for quite some time. In the past I blamed myself and felt guilty for percieved laziness/procrastination. My old doctors prescribed me Strattera. I did get some of the really bad side effects, but because it helped with my focus and I kept taking it. I’ve been consistently gaslighted my entire life so I think that’s a part of my anxiety on the topic
(3) Now I’m taking Wellbutrin. It’s been a week and I feel the side effects. Not so much the benefits although I know it takes up to a month for these medications work. Anyway I’m worried that I won’t be treated properly. My symptoms affect my work, school. Time management is a nightmare, etc etc. Sometimes I just lay down even if I have a lot to do because I feel like completing anything is an impossible task. Does anyone have similar issues with their doctors and/or do you have any advice?
Keep an eye on the side effects and tell your doctor if they are unbearable, and especially if they don’t go away. If you’re lucky, the Wellbutrin will help with your ADHD symptoms as well as your depression, so then you will be all set! If it doesn’t help with your ADHD symptoms but does with your depression, please don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor about that and tell him that you would like to try something that isn’t Strattera to see if it will help. When I had clinical depression, I took Dexedrine and Cipralex (Lexapro) and the two together were exactly what I needed. It’s pretty common to mix an antidepressant with a stimulant, though you do need to watch out for side effects and some people find that combining them isn’t a good idea.

Followers, do you have any suggestions for how thepetitemuse can approach her doctor about this?
