Facebook is a cesspool as always... people mocking teens for their performance (or lack thereof) on the national exams today. Hmm I wonder which generation raised these teens 🤔. All of the comments with a good dosage of "back in my day we sat exams in 1000 degree weather and we didn't die, why are these spoiled brats demanding ACs?!"

Meanwhile somebody like my mother who is also in that generation and who has been a teacher for 30 years, coming home from the exam room today was like "it was so hot it felt hard to breathe. I can only imagine how much worse it was for the kids, who had an exam to write". So not that hard to have basic empathy after all, is it?

#don't get me started on apparently the entire Romanian internet mocking this girl for showing up with fake nails and saying she's probably #gonna fail or barely pass her exam but that's ok cause she wants to open a salon #cause in this country if you're somebody who gets a bad grade in school you're branded an idiot forever and that's your only ever identity #girl at least has a game plan. to start her own business. she wants to work not to be lazy #blue collar work gets ZERO respect in this country. but is nail technician even blue collar lmao #its a small business more like. let her do whatever #its honest work and thats what matters #but no yall saw nails and went BIMBO!!!!!#i used to judge people based on grades and their profession but as i grew up and matured i realised everybody has their path in life #ive met amazingly intelligent AND KIND women who despite having higher education and having worked in a highly competitive field before #(such as medicine. social work. business) decided theyre ultimately happier having a 'lowbrow' small business #(beauty salon. hair salon. nail salon. knitted works. pottery. you name it)#so these professions arent even for 'stupid' girls who get bad grades in school #BUT EVEN IF THEY WERE you put some respect on those womens names right now #honest work is honest work. everybody has a path in life. and some decide theyd be happier in their career if they did nails

seen one too many snide posts about this in the last week or so but did you know that if you don't enjoy scenes in smut establishing consent or checking in then you simply don't have to read them and you don't have to go online and whine about how they're Consent Posturing and Purity Culture and Sanitizing Everything and God Just Kill Me Now. like you can have a preference without making it into a three act morality play, which is ironically what you are accusing other people of doing.

the same goes for like, detailed content warnings on fics. or content warnings at all. you can just skip those. they're not a sign of Purity Culture Gone Too Far or Those Damn Puriteens or whatever. you can dislike things without being an asshole about them or implying they're Taking Away What's Good And Correct About Fic Or Creativity.

i do think a lot of times if you are not considered THE person for a character (or to a specific person), people will just ignore you and your thoughts or opinions, and this has been a root cause for a lot of bitterness on here.

#like not directly speaking from experience this is just an observation #i think people maybe consciously or not have people they have decided #have authority over charavters #and have a bias towards them #and i am probs guilty of this to with my friends #but i think now everyones just in this competition to be THE character person #instead of us all sharing and enjoying things together #bc if ur a fan of a charavrer and so is your friend … apparently that’s okay to some people ? but if it’s a stranger and their thoughts #are different …. they’re just media illiterate and don’t know what they’re talking about #i think there’s also too much pressure to be an EXPERT about things #you don’t need to know every single detail about a character or universe to write for them #but we’ve created a culture where that’s like. the bare minimum to being a fan lol #idk . i’m just kind of tired of everyones superiority complexes and hypocrisy

Something about AU Vander telling AU Powder she's "too smart to spend her life in a bar" vs telling AU Ekko (as far as he knows, anyway) that he thinks he'd be "running this place soon" makes the latter almost seem like an insult.

#everyone insisting Powder should be changing the world kind of fits with what the maintimeline has going on #only kinda bc if anything Jinx needs some peace and less responsibility and fewer revolutions and struggle and all that #but also if i were AU powder #who grew up dirt poor and lost both her parents and then her sister #and after a long period of grieve and strive #things look up #everyone is recovering (from poverty) and better physically and mentally #and i decided to chill out and remain close to my family in my chosen profession #and everyone kept telling me i should be more ambitious and change the world #i'd be biting people #or maybe vander meant ekko'd be running the undercity but doubt that's the intention of the line #anyway the entire episode's focus on powder kind of annoyed me #not in the sense that she's present but in the sense that every little detail is more about her than ekko #vander says ekko should be proud of himself bc powder's been raving about his z-drive and she hasn't looked so alive in a long time #as if the merit of the zdrive is that it made powder feel better and not that it's an amazing invention ekko plans to enter a competition w #and it would be fine if almost every conversation wasn't like that #but ekko never wonders about the firelights or asks claggor about his plant invention (which would be revolutionary for his undercity)#or even wonders about AU ekko's /his own AU's self apparently rather unhealthy mental state #the only conversations ekko has in this episode that aren't through the lense of powder are exposition with heimer and his hug with benzo #if anything powder's nonreaction to ekko's mood swings #worries and altered personality kind of implies that it doesn't matter to her #or the writers who exactly ekko is in this relationship or what her feelings are about him #but i'm getting ahead of myself #arcane #arcane season 2 #arcane spoilers #ekko #arcane meta

#one piece #sanji #black leg sanji #everysanji #return to sabaody archipelago #ch601 #zoro being so contrarian in this sequence reminds me so much of my one coworker rn #we dont really have a competition but also we kind of do. about who can visit the most lighthouses in a year #its the end of the season we're all pretty much done with traveling for this stuff #but i've seen 18 lighthouses (including ours) and he's seen 17 (including getting our new stamp)#so apparently when our third coworker at the lighthouse mentioned it to him that i've seen 18 this year #coworker 2 went 'hmm maybe i should try and see one more lighthouse this year'#its not that deep. i started from 0 of course i can rack up my stamps pretty quickly #i'm gonna start planning out my lighthouse tour for next year uhm. probably closer to february or smth #depending on what i end up doing for the winter i might even try for some then #anyway? none of you care about this but i've visited 18 lighthouses this summer alone
