if you were to ask shikra why he preferred to stay OUT of gotham , and he liked you enough to tell you , he’d have a whole list of reasons . bad associations , the traffic , the villains , the environment , hostile to both his mental and physical health , the simple fact that it’s JERSEY - but , mostly , he stays out because of the winged RODENTS that get in the way of his work .

most especially , the one he’s RELATED to .

there’s always the HOPE that tim won’t be in town when shikra takes a job - that he’ll be off with his team or his friends , maybe out battling assassins far afield - but he’s RARELY that lucky . no , tim is nearly always here ; waiting for aaron , wanting to step in , to interfere , to try and TALK ; and it nearly always ends in BLOOD .

“ you didn’t have anything BETTER to do tonight ? ” he asks his twin , not glancing at him when he lands . “ do you request to come find me when i’m in town , or are we just this lucky ? ” his voice is BONE DRY : he doesn’t doubt tim keeps track of him even when he’s not in gotham , so of course he’s the one waiting for aaron when he comes home .
