“I saw a movie but it just wasn't the same. It was happy and I was sad.”
@therenegade-writer asked: ☀ receiver has a mental breakdown and sender tries to comfort them (pen to des, obviously)
Desmond had returned home from the pub much later than usual, so deep in his cups that a huge weight on his chest. As he settled onto the bed in their flat, he choked back a sob, resting his head in his hands. The weight increased as he pushed all the pain down. There wasn’t much to do when he got this drunk. The best anyone could do was let him cry, release the tears, but he didn’t want to wake Penny in the process.
Even still, the tears slowly flooded his throat until they overwhelmed him and finally, a sob cracked through the damn he had built against them. As he relaxed into the flow of the tears, he grew louder and barely noticed the light switch on behind him. Another more whispered sob escaped as he froze. “Go back to bed Pen,” he insisted, knowing she would do no such thing.
@therenegade-writer ❤'d for a starter from Killian for Emma
Killian's eyes lit up when he saw the woman of his affections walk into The Rabbit Hole. She was beautiful and he was already a few drinks in, not that he needed them to approach her, but it didn't hurt. "Swan," he grinned as he came up beside her. "What are you drinking?" He was already signaling to the bartender to get his attention.

“Clara.”
The name sounds foreign on his lips. He hasn’t spoken it in so long he nearly forgot what it felt like. More than that, he’d forgotten her for so long... But now he remembers. He remembers, and his hearts are breaking all over again.
He doesn’t know how she is here, or if she even really is. Perhaps she’s a phantom, a bad (good?) dream, a trick or a trap. He remembers thinking the same a long time ago when they first met. But none of that really matters because she is here, and he has missed her.
“Oh, my Clara. How...?”
just a little awkward - from <x> - @therenegade-writer
As soon as the word “sex” left Joyce’s mouth, Hopper’s eyes glazed over as his brain came to a screeching halt. Him... explain safe sex practices... to her boy? His own teenage years raced through his mind - the girls, the parties, the very very stupid decisions. He finally came back to himself and shook his head, turning around to go back inside and grab a cigarette.
“No no no, that’s a terrible idea! You’ve met me, right? You definitely don’t want me to be the one to talk about that stuff with your son.”

“Thefuck did I just say?” Nate jerked his arm back, retreating off his bar stool to cradle his arm at the other end of the room. His eyes watering, he peered down at the damage and tried to flex his fingers. It hurt, but he could do it.
“What the hell were you throwing bottles for anyway? I am the exact definition of an angry drunk. I have never thrown a bottle.”
@therenegade-writer asked: May I flirt with you? (Desmond/Penny—any way works!)
Desmond chuckled and threw Penny a bright smile as he caught her eyes on the driver’s side of the car. Though they’d just met, he felt a strong connection to the beautiful vibrant woman beside him. Despite the formality, the sentiment immediately charmed him. “You know most women, they don’t ask nearly that politely--or at all,” he replied. “Were we not already flirting?”
@therenegade-writer asked: remember, we’re kinda not together anymore...?
Desmond wanted to linger on the word kinda, to let it hang over them until the doubt drew them closer together and they kissed. After all, it wasn’t exactly like they’d split everything up yet. He stopped by to get the last of his things when they stumbled across another bottle of that familiar wine that brought them together. “I dunno that I’ll ever not be with you Penny. Even if we’re not together, part of me is with you,” he insisted, taking another sip of wine.
