Took the @barkadatoronto team up for dinner on our night off to our big sister resto @theschombergpub for some good food, drinks. Not all could make it but we made the most of it! The Pub has been a huge reason how we kept the doors open downtown + alot of the knowledge I learned in the hospitality industry is due to this beautiful gem so I wanted our downtown staff to see it + give them a fun night off. . The hospitality industry is one of the hardest hit industries due to covid and thankful for the team @barkadatoronto @theschombergpub + @craftkitchenschomberg for all their hardwork + coming back to work in this industry that has had so many ups + downs this past year & a half. . On that note we are still hiring at all the places as like many businesses, not everyone has come back to work. So if you know anyone let me know! . Crazy to think 8 years has passed by since opening this place up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Was sad I missed the annual Anniversary Party this past Saturday because of work but great to hear it was a success as always! 🎉 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I went from living downtown & spinning 5 nights a week to living 45 min away from the city above a restaurant where I literally had to close and open the door for 3 years everyday, tell the kitchen to not wash the dishes if I wanted to shower quickly as the pressure would be so faint. 7 years ago, decided to do something else besides djing and bought this resto @theschombergpub w/ @nikkistamcos. . . Impulsive decision that we made and within a week had the keys. Lived above it for 3 years, did all the jobs from serving, bartending, cooking, cleaning, etc. Became handy like installing cameras, sheds, light fixtures, etc. 🔨 . Restaurant life is not easy and nor would I suggest someone older than like 45 and kids to start. . But with anything in life, after a lot of hard work, it pays off. Countless experiences good + bad to help you become who you are today. . And we couldn't have done anything without our family, amazing staff + customers that keep coming back! 🙏 . . On Saturday June 23, we are doing our yearly anniversary bash with Wheat Kings Band on patio til 2am. One of the very few nights I take off the whole year from djing. Basically sold out, but if you would like to come party it up with me on the dancefloor for a change, let me know asap. (Seriously I think I only have like 10 tix). .
