#thesis update

i don't have many "studyblr pictures" to share lately. most of my work and thesis progress is happening in google docs, which is not very aesthetic, and i don't want to be doxxing myself or my students lol

i've been analyzing data for my thesis. i haven't worked much with quantitative data before, so i didn't know that so much of it is just tedious work of formatting and copy-pasting. it might just be a skill issue on my end though.

Thesis update:

Had my probation review today and I fucking aced it! My supervisory panel had lots of really good comments to make, and apparently my biggest problem is that I'm...too ambitious? Okay great XD

Quote from my panel chair: "You clearly have that spark that most people don't have, and you're operating like a PhD student with a Masters amount of time"

I'm winning at worms. I'm doing so good at worms.

Thesis update...

I passed!

It all gets ratified next month, but I think I'll be coming out with a merit for the master's overall; I was agonisingly close to a distinction, which is irritating, but never mind 😂

small dissertation update

my lecturer loves the topic! Now I need to create a structure and an approach to this. I’m thinking about researching media safety standards in animation. e.g. are there production guidelines on how many flashing lights are okay? Is there a red-blue restriction???

How can we define photosensitivity and what measure of looking out for photosensitive people is appropriate without stunning the action/effects in visual art to much. I have a lot to look into. Funny enough my photosensitivity was usually triggered by videogames (1 shooter and the other one was a naruto fighting game), rather then animated cartoons. Which might be worth discussing as well, if videogames are taking any precautions aside from your casual “photosensitivity Warning” when starting the Playstation...
